There's nothing to debunk. Ray just shares the gospel truth with people. Evolution is an unsubstantiated & unscientific fairy tale for atheists & other nitwits. Evolution has never proven their molecules to mankind beliefs are true in any way--they have NO compelling/convincing evidence or proof & a cogent explanation. They regularly misinterpreted & misrepresented the available evidence to fit their biased beliefs & to deceive people with creative drawings because they know they can't use the fossils to convince people of their false beliefs. It's nothing but a fraud when you look deep enough into the actual available evidence.

What Ray will do is to ignore it. This is his living, he'll keep shoveling this shit because it's only thing he can do. There's well documented evidence of him being told what evolution is and soon after he shows up somewhere in public asking how the first dog who manages to evolve eyes could find another dog that happened to evolve eyes. Ray's cognitive dissonance is what feeds him. Being willingly ignorant is his job. That being said, this video was sublime. Well done.
@PaulTheSkeptic11 жыл бұрын
I don't think he has cognitive dissonance. I don't even think he buys the shit he's shoveling. He's just chasing dollars. If, hypothetically, he publicly accepted evolution, just imagine how the Christians would trash him and people who accept science already don't trust him. He'd have to get a job at 7-11 or something.
@thekbshouse11 жыл бұрын
Paul L I don't think that's entirely the case. He could be making much more than he is, I think if he was in it just for the dishonesty. His cognitive dissonance is that he is preaching what he says is the truth and speaks against truth that doesn't have his particular god placed in there. If it can't fit god he'll make up shit and ignore it. From what I have heard Ray is generally a nice guy and probably good friend to have. I don't think he is the kind of guy who would do this JUST for the cash. There's people like Peter Popoff who have demonstrated to be frauds and just in it for the money- Ray isn't like that. If Ray is in it for the money, he is quite an actor and willingly does less money than he could if he went all in.
@PaulTheSkeptic11 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm not going to sit and argue all day that Ray knows. I guess it's good enough that we both accept science. I can't really produce any objective evidence. I still think he's a lot more deceitful than you might think despite he's charming demeanor. Popoff was a real scumbag though wasn't he? He's still on TV in Europe and people are trying to get him off. His British TV licence was revoked but they still get him through some technicality. The bastard is still making millions.

***** The only times, in scientific history, God has been proposed to explain anything...was at the edges of the current scientific understandings. In effect, in those circumstances, those who proposed "god" where, in fact, proposing a god of the gaps. Using the god concept only to explain that which was not yet currently understood about how the physical world operates. Also, when reviewing scientific history, the VAST majority of those god claims as an explanitory power, where before we understood cosmology, quantum theory, relativity, cell theory, germ theory and many other pillars of modern scientific knowledge. Those who proposed god or gods to explain nature in science, including Newton, did so from a place of ignorance. Not from a place of understanding, research and discovery. It was always used when the extent of what they could understood failed in describing a particular phenomena. So, no...science does NOT in fact testify to a god. This is simply wishful thinking on your part. A distortion of history and the scientific process of discovery. Not to mention an abject denial of the progress the scientific community has achieved in the 150+ years since god was an acceptable scientific explanation. I have always felt that making mistakes and learning from them is a part of life. We may not like looking back at those moments, but taking the time to reflect on how you were before and how you are now can show you just how much you've grown. We grow each and every day from our experiences. My early teenage life was a very turbulent time. I suffered a lot of abuse, and I bought into peoples lies in order to gain acceptance, only for it to be turned around on me. I was impressionable, as are we all. I won't claim to understand everything. We make mistakes and errors in our judgments, especially when emotions get in the way, which I'm still guilty of allowing my emotions to get the better of me from time to time. Admitting your mistakes and conceding defeat is not "surrendering" or giving in. It's admitting you have made a mistake, and you willingly accept that you have. We should strive to better ourselves, if we do not admit our mistakes we can never correct them, and will continue to make them and look foolish for ignoring the truth. Creationists should not try to play around in a field that they obviously have no understanding of. It's as simple as that. I myself am not a Scientist, so I can't claim to fully comprehend how complex it is, and I won't pretend to.

neuemage False you say, really? What is your evidence for this claim, as you just offered your opinion? HERE IS MY EVIDENCE YOU'RE WRONG ! The Nazi book burnings were a campaign conducted by the German Student Union to ceremonially burn books in Nazi Germany and Austria by classical liberal, anarchist, socialist, pacifist, communist, Jewish, and other authors whose writings were viewed as subversive or whose ideologies undermined the National Socialist administration. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_book_burnings Nazi backlash and coming to America Inevitably, Einstein’s fame and the great success of his theories created a backlash. The rising Nazi movement found a convenient target in relativity, branding it “Jewish physics” and sponsoring conferences and book burnings to denounce Einstein and his theories. The Nazis enlisted other physicists, including Nobel laureates Philipp Lenard and Johannes Stark, to denounce Einstein. One Hundred Authors Against Einstein was published in 1931. When asked to comment on this denunciation of relativity by so many scientists, Einstein replied that to defeat relativity one did not need the word of 100 scientists, just one fact. www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/181349/Albert-Einstein/256586/Nazi-backlash-and-coming-to-America Here is a short list of persecuted authors by the Nazi Party who not only burned their books but also hounded them out of German public offices, universities laboratories. Others were sent to the concentration camps:- Among the German-speaking authors whose books student leaders burned that night were Walter Benjamin, Ernst Bloch, Bertolt Brecht, Max Brod, Otto Dix, Alfred Döblin, Albert Einstein, Lion Feuchtwanger, Marieluise Fleißer, Leonhard Frank, Sigmund Freud, Iwan Goll, George Grosz, Jaroslav Hašek, Heinrich Heine, Ödön von Horvath, Heinrich Eduard Jacob, Franz Kafka, Georg Kaiser, Erich Kästner, Alfred Kerr, Egon Erwin Kisch, Siegfried Kracauer, Karl Kraus, Theodor Lessing, Alexander Lernet-Holenia, Karl Liebknecht, Georg Lukács, Rosa Luxemburg, Heinrich Mann, Klaus Mann, Ludwig Marcuse, Karl Marx, Robert Musil, Carl von Ossietzky, Erwin Piscator, Alfred Polgar, Erich Maria Remarque, Ludwig Renn, Joachim Ringelnatz, Joseph Roth, Nelly Sachs, Felix Salten, Anna Seghers, Arthur Schnitzler, Carl Sternheim, Bertha von Suttner, Ernst Toller, Kurt Tucholsky, Jakob Wassermann, Frank Wedekind, Franz Werfel, Grete Weiskopf, Arnold Zweig and Stefan Zweig. Not only German speaking authors were burned but also French authors like Victor Hugo, André Gide, Romain Rolland, Henri Barbusse, American writers such as Ernest Hemingway, Upton Sinclair, Theodore Dreiser, Jack London, John Dos Passos, and Helen Keller as well as English authors Joseph Conrad, D.H. Lawrence, H.G. Wells and Aldous Huxley, Irish writer James Joyce and Soviet authors including Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Maxim Gorki, Isaak Babel, Vladimir Iljic Lenin, Vladimir Nabokov, Leo Tolstoy, Leon Trotsky, Vladimir Vladimirovich, Ilja Ehrenburg. The burning of the books represents a culmination of the persecution of those authors whose verbal or written opinions were opposed to Nazi ideology. Many artists, writers and scientists were banned from working and publication. Their works could no longer be found in libraries or in the curricula of schools or universities. Some of them were driven to exile (like Walter Mehring and Arnold Zweig),others were deprived of the citizenship (for example Ernst Toller and Kurt Tucholsky) or forced into a self-imposed exile from society (e.g. Erich Kästner). For other writers the Nazi persecutions ended in death. Some of them died in concentration camps, due to the consequences of the conditions of imprisonment or were executed (like Carl von Ossietzky, Erich Mühsam, Gertrud Kolmar, Jakob van Hoddis, Paul Kornfeld, Arno Nadel and Georg Hermann, Theodor Wolff, Adam Kuckhoff, Rudolf Hilferding). Exiled authors despaired and committed suicide, for example: Walter Hasenclever, Ernst Weiss, Carl Einstein, Walter Benjamin, Ernst Toller, Stefan Zweig. Heinrich Heine, whose work was also burned, wrote in his 1820-1821 play Almansor the famous admonition, “Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen": "Where they burn books, they will in the end also burn people." So, do you now concede you and your opinions are demonstrably WRONG?

My passion is with the philosophy that causes youth to end their lives because of fear, guilt and shame caused by the idea that virginity equals purity, sex before marriage means hell, failure means god shutting the door because bigger, better things are in store. This rubbish takes away the human desire to try harder and learn more.
@atheistsermons9 жыл бұрын
Andre Mackey We can have a discussion about this. One thing at the time otherwise our comments get too long and complicated. The Bible does associate virginity with purity on many occasions with the most vastly known example to be the virgin birth. Adultery is one of the 10 commandments. Unmarried couples having sex received the death penalty. According to Deuteronomy and Leviticus, if a virgin has sex outside of marriage, she is defiled. Of course, there are plenty of Christian denominations who reject this and come up with metaphorical interpretations, which in my opinion, is better than making virginity, or the lack thereof, an issue. Which denomination are you, may I ask?

***** You can't take things out of context in the bible. Levitical Law was done away with when Jesus died for our sins and accepted gentiles because the jews rejected Him. Sin is sin. We must pray for forgiveness, repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Every man sins, but we can ask for forgiveness. We can't continually commit the same sins over and over and say, "I'll just confess it again and it's okay"; that is not repentance. It is not a get out of jail free card. To truly be saved, you must repent and turn away from sin and ask God for help with this. We are saved by God's grace and we are to try our best to live a holy life. No man is/was sinless, except Jesus. I don't care what religion anyone is as long as they follow God's word, the Bible, and do no distort, manipulate or use out of the wrong context to suit their lifestyle.

So many people are afraid to admit that they were ever wrong at all, let alone that they once had real conviction for something they now know to be wrong. That kind of humility is what makes a truly good scientist.

I have been studying theoretical physics for a little while now. My studies started in CERN Switzerland, that lead me to study Relativity and that has lead me to your videos. I apreciate how well and detailed your explanation are in all your videos. You do a very good job of sticking to the science, avoiding personal insults and attacks on religion. That is part of why I continue to watch your videos, some of them multiple times. I also admire your patience with the people you have disagreements with; such as the comment below. I was home schooled as a child for religious reasons. My mom actually had me watch Kent Hov Hovind videos as a child. (gasp) Upon doing my own unbiased research, I have realized the many gaps and flaws in the 'creationist' concepts. In recent discussions with my creationist friends, the argument i hear is "how can something come from nothing?" This of course is referring to the Big Bang. I have done research on this topic however with my limited understanding of the topic I have no response for that at this time. Thansk again for all the effort you put into your videos and might I add I typed this up on my phone so there are more then likely typos etc.

I agree in part Mark. But I was a smart kid. Regularly the the smartest kid in class. The main problem was that while I was smart, I was also trusting and naive and had no reason to disbelieve everyone around me (family, teachers, community) I ended up being religious for twenty years. It's easy to brainwash these poor kids when it surrounds them and they see nothing other than the lies they are force fed.

If the book is simply read as one with no presuppositions it reeks of just everything bad. My mother also had a fit but understood and I quickly stepped away and let it go. Ironically she has never read the bible though I completely understand her having the mindset she would be unable to discard. As far as your world views I often wonder the same. This one however is not one of them.

Some people will only believe in their truth, no matter how overwhelming the odds are against them, and of course it is easier for them to continue the lie than to admit they were wrong! From what I can tell, a person that believes in god or the super natural tends to believes it because they "feel" it is right. Emotions seem to be able to override a person's ability to think critically and when they lack a basic understanding of science then it is no surprise that a person's imagination fuelled by emotions goes wild.

That is very sad. Religion is uniquely universal and human and probably the greatest influence on human existence. The idea that we should avoid the Bible - the greatest influence in Western art, music and literature - strikes me as cultural suicide. When I was a kid (a zillion years ago) we studied religions in public school, dressed in costumes (surely politically incorrect) and made a notebook about each one. As an atheist, I don't get it.

To creationists a "kind" are two animals that look similar, they see that dogs and coyotes look similar and thus are the same "kind" however, a cat looks different from a coyote therefore isn't the same "kind". They go by looks, not scientific facts. If there is specialization in a bird they see the two as the same "kind" because it still looks like a bird. They want to see a bird change into a crab or something which isn't how evolution works.

As a Christian our ministry is simple. We tell you what we believe and we are supposed to leave the decision up to you. We aren't supposed to convince you. What we all believe is our choice. You have the right to think the way you do and I have the right to think the way I do. If you want to ridicule me than that's your choice. But true Christianity can't accurately be compared to conspiracy theorists. Jesus told his followers to go to the uttermost parts of the world. If we are rejected than we are supposed to move on. Jesus told his followers to go to the entrance of the city and dust off their clothes. Jesus understood that our message would be a choice and if those listening did not accept than they were not worthy of the message. If you do not want to see the message than I'm giving you the opportunity to leave... ... ... ... The message is this. Every person is has broken God's moral law. And as criminals we have a price to pay for our crime. We are all guilty of disobedience and lying. None of us are moraly perfect. So God in his love for us gave up his only son. His only son, Jesus, left his home to come to this Earth as a man to die. When Jesus died he payed for the crime that we've all committed. Only Jesus could do this as a moraly perfect man. Jesus did this so that you could have a relationship with God. If you want to have that relationship with God than you must accept Jesus. How to accept Jesus? You accept him by accepting Jesus for who he claimed to be and for what he claimed to do. You must confess that Jesus is the LORD of your life. And that Jesus died to pay for your crime against God and that Jesus rose again from the dead and is still alive today. This is the message Jesus told us to go and preach. If you accepted Jesus than now you should be baptized in order to let others know that you are now a follower of Jesus. The scripture that I used: Romans 10: 9-11 John 1: 12-13 John 3: 16 If you did not accept Jesus than that is your choice. And now I move on without bothering any one else.
