At 7:07, after white plays L2, black G2 isn't correct because of white M2 atari. Instead, it should go that way: white L2, black K2, L1 and then black has a least a ko.

+Simon Janin Thanks. I missed two moves in the variation (K2, L1). think you are right about L2, K2, L1, but I think J4 can make a false eye. Instead of J4, Black G2 will either just live, or connect if white tries too hard. For example, L2, K2, L1, G2, G1, F1, F2, H1, now K1 and E1 are miai to live or connect. Plus there's all those nasty outside weaknesses now. Great for black. Thanks.

Sweet, I found the first move on this one, didn't consider the L4 continuation though, that's quite interesting. I wasn't entirely sure how the aji on the bottom would work out if you don't play that side, it just looked too dangerous to me - I might have tried K2 or similar, which funnily enough makes the same basic relationship to p3 that m3 has to r2/r4.

+GameCarpenter Yeah, I never thought of the invasion problem this way before. Denying the opponent three things (connection to the outside, a base, or ko) at once is hard! And once you think of it that way, then my move looks kinda silly.

When I paused. I thought about K3, L3, N3, or O3. It seemed playing N3 was too aggressive, attaching to what I think is a weak stone. O3 seemed like a sweet spot for helping P3, being close enough to the wall Q and low enough to help disrupt invasion plans. I considered K3 as the move that would be as close to helping the mid wall work with the left wall without over-concentrating the area of the left wall. L3 seemed like the weakest choice by leaving a cut and not having a liberty facing the right wall or P3, being further from the left wall. When I unpaused, I saw you really did not want that connection. I paused again after black played K3 and now that I'm done writing this comment, I look forward to seeing what unfolds. Edit: I paused again at the point where you mentioned making sure you stopped black from making a base. If I'd thought of that, I definitely would have gone lower than 3 line, but for whatever reason in my approach I was thinking going low wouldn't work as well. Your videos are always so informative. Thank you for sharing them with us.

+Custersword I think it's pretty cool that you detailed your thought process much in the same way I do!

Great video. I would probably have overreacted and played N2
