LET ME SHARE A SAD REALITY. MOST NNC MEMBERS SIGNED THE SHILLONG ACCORD IN 1975 AND AGREED TO BE UNDER INDIAN CONSTITUTION. TODAY THE NNC IS NO LONGER THE SAME AS YESTERDAY, THEY ARE THE SAME AS THE NSCN/GPRN. IF NNC IS ASKING FOR INDENPENDENCE WHY ARE THEY ARE PART OF THE 7 NNPG'S WHO ARE ASKING FOR ECONOMIC PACKAGE? We have every right to be free independent naga country. But why still we are under indian accupation? There is so many reason, but a few we should know. During late Phizo tenure, we have 99% mandate majority fighting to india govt. But today instead of fighting to indiia for freedom of naga with unity, we fight only for groupsm in order to collect tax for more than ten different group without unity. 1.it is unacceptable but true that instead of fighting with india, we fight each other for what and why? 2. If a blunt dao is given to our children for hunting, shall we expect elephant head from our child? 3.if a child demand for moon or star to his father by sitting on his father's back, can his father fulfill his dream? Under this circumstances let us apply Mahatma Gandhi's policy of Ahimsa/non violence. Otherwise majority can not become minority an d vice versa.

Violence was never an option but back then in 1946 during the NNC time maybe it made sense but now even if we unit as one it's nearly impossible to stand up against the might Indian through militants but because of greed and power there are many new factions coming up now and again for economically backward classes it's worst they have to pay taxes to every factions and if not cooperated they are threatened using their power for extortions and is exploited .We the nagas must wake up and fight against this no more cooperating with this so called Naga freedom fighters and to stop extortion i wonder if we even get independence there will be Chaos and bloodshed all over nagaland .It's sad that we are now having resentments towards our own freedom fighters but i personally see no solution from them and must eradicated completely.

According to my knowledge regarding the naga independent day celebration we first celebrated our independent celebration on 14 Aug/1947 and after one year on 14th Aug/1948 we celebrated one year of naga independent celebration that means we celebrate twist in a year so in 14th Aug/2022 it become 76th naga independent celebration. Starting from 14th Aug/1947 We celebrated 76th times upto date but the year was 75th.

I think we did not celebrate in 1947, but we declared our independence on 14th August 1947. So declaration and celebration has to be noted, of course there are inter linked. So it should be 75yrs. Yes we yearn for independence but it was not given so our parents decided to make a self declaration that we are a different people and shall have a different nation.
