I like the Wind flute part for Zandarlari. Sometimes I just sit in the main city of Zandalari just to listen to the wind flutes portion to play over and over. Eventually it loops out so I have to go to an inn or an off shoot zone to switch the song then walk back into the city to have the song restart.

@@facepalm0864 Dalaran is still ruled by Khadgar as far as I remember, and Khadgar is neutral. Lordaeron being destroyed does not change that most of its citizens now serve the Horde. Gilneas is still in ruins and sparsely populated.

The reason that this login music is such a departure from the previous expansions is due to Blizzard eliminating the senior sound and music designer position which Russel Bower held. Russel Bower had a major hand in many of the most epic musics in WoW today (he joined the company in 2005 which is when Blizzard started making raids like Sunwell and Black Temple have non generic music tracks, which is because of Russel Bower). His loss from the development team is a sad one indeed.

Then you should sit down and listen to it ("Shaping of the worlds")(for your inner N8elf). Also to Burning Crusade's "The Betrayer and The Sun King" ( very powerfull) and WotLk "Invincible" (don't cry!). Search for the Blizzard Best-of Album "Echoes of War" here on youtube. It was released for free when Blizz celebrated one of their birthdays about 10years ago. The soundtracks after WotLk were just bad (except Mist of Pandaria-Login Screen)

I love this theme. Find it to be more simple and less tacky like alot of wow is. But it brings out a jack sparrow vibe in me. Horde music starts around 2min mark and puts me in jurrasic park.

I think it's pretty good. I have a music degree and I enjoy the way they interwove the themes from each character. You can clearly identify Anduin, Sylvannas and then maybe Old Gods? It's not the same theme we are used to that almost every expansion we've had, it's similar but it doesn't start with the same bombastic horn part. MoP and WoD were cool, but they're trying something else and depending on the art, this might actually grow on you eventually!

Honestly it's not to late to get the Sound Directors to fix this. We need to formalize a movement to include callbacks to pieces by Jason Hayes like Seasons of War, and A Call to Arms. Or Legends of Azeroth. These are essential to the Warcraft sound, and -especially- for a WAR expansion. I'm working on an edit about now, that hopefully isn't a stretch for Blizzard. I hope we can get some fix here.

I do love the bits with Canticle of Sacrifice (Anduin's Theme) and the main reason why it is like this is because it is more about humanity than the other ones, WoD was all about war drums and orcs, Mists was just wonderful in it of itself, and Vanilla was vanilla.

Good song, bad menu theme. Opening isn't bombastic enough. Bfa may be UHHHH but Zandalar and Kul Tiras we're beautiful. My main is Highmountain. The mounts and pets were sick. I'll never forget the Loa I met. Maybe a bad expansion for many reasons but damn it did a lot of good too

I'm looking at the comments of people saying this isn't as good as the previous ones. Maybe because it's...well...how can I put it delicately... It's too *HUMAN*. Wrath was all about the cold and the closeness to death, WoD was more focused on the aspects of war and savagery, MoP is all about the mystery of the pandarens with hints of asian culture. *THIS* takes too much from the humans like the pirates or kul'tirans. And last I check, Humans are the most *BORING* of races in the game.

Also the theme is called "Before the Storm", what is it always before a storm? Calm. That's the whole point of this. If you have a really heavy clashing theme like in WoD etc. kind of defeats the purpose of the title. I think it's fantastic personally!

I don't mind the melodramatic rendition of the classic WoW theme, eventhough I'm seriously getting sick of that "aaaahhhhhh" type of Gregorian chanting, which is being overused in Warcraft scores in recent times. What does annoy me is the lack of fluent transitions into the different songs. This sounds more like a checklist of tracks than a suite. Also there are just purely boring parts with no discernable tunes (just drawn-out generic orchestral fillings). And don't even get me started on that Kul'Tiras theme... I'm already sick of it after hearing it three-four times. That's not a good sign. Overall, not as bad as the Pandaria login-screen, but definitely a step down from earlier expansions.
