Are you ready to unlock the secrets hidden within the DNA? Brace yourself for a thrilling adventure into the captivating world of human Genetics, where we will explore the mysterious inner workings of the human body.
We are excited to present our latest video that delves into the fascinating realm Congenital abnormalities, Malformation, Sequence, Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Disruption, Deformations, Myelomeningocele, and many other terms.
We will be discussing Congenital Abnormalities which include Single Congenital Abnormalities which involve Malformation, Deformation, and Malformation. Malformation has defects in the primary structure. But in Deformation and Disruption, there is a normal development structure initially until acted upon by the force. While Multiple Congenital Abnormalities include Sequence and the Syndrome.
let’s delve in and expand our knowledge on these critical topics of Genetics.
▬ Congenital Abnormalities ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Congenital abnormalities also known as birth defects, are structural and functional abnormalities that occur during fetal development. We will watch and understand in the video what types of Congenital abnormalities are involved in failure-neutral tube closure, Cleft Palate, and Down Syndrome.
There are Following Types of Congenital abnormalities:
✧ Single Congenital Abnormalities
✧ Multiple Congenital Abnormalities
▬ Single Congenital Abnormalities ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
These Congenital abnormalities occur during Fetal development. One of them is during the development of the Primary structure. However, two of them occur after the normal primary structure is acted upon by the external force. There are different examples included in Single Congenital Abnormalities such as Failure of Neutral tube closure, Cleft Palate, and Down Syndrome. All of these are Prenatal Defects.
There are the following types of Single Congenital Abnormalities:
✦ Malformations
✦ Deformations
✦ Disruptions
▬ Malformations ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Malformation is due to errors occurring in the initial formation of structure. As we will watch in the video cleft palate is considered as one of the Malformation.
▬ Deformations ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Deformations are mechanical distortions. Baby has normal primary structure unless acted by abnormal force that leads to clubfoot. but it is different from disruption in such a way they resolve completely after birth.
▬ Disruptions ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Disruption is also among one of the Single Congenital Abnormalities. Disruption is due to disturbance after an organ has been formed.
▬ Multiple Congenital Abnormalities ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
These Congenital abnormalities occur during the development of the fetus so they are the Prenatal Defects. These abnormalities affect the development process of the baby.
There is following types of Multiple Congenital Abnormalities
🔹Sequence
🔹Syndrome
▬ Syndrome ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Syndromes are groups of anomalies that consistently occur together due to a single cause. Down Syndrome is also among one of the Multiple Congenital Abnormalities. Down Syndrome is due to trisomy 21. In the video, TAR Syndrome has been discussed as an example.
▬ Sequence ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Sequences are cascades of effects. Event-A leads to Event-B, Event-B leads to Event-C. If Event-B is missing it never leads to Event-C. In the video, one of the sequences that has been discussed is the Robbin Sequence.
