Both of my parents died, unexpectedly, within 3 months, a few months ago... It's beyond painful. I'm trying to stay up, by laughing as much as I can. Thank you Chris: For saying what you said about Family. I appreciate you

I hope times have gotten easier and that you may be able to think back and celebrate their lives when you reminisce and not only hurt. I can’t imagine the pain, and it’s something I dread happening someday. It terrifies me honestly and if I think about it, I won’t sleep that night. Anywho, keep your head up and continue to make them proud as you chase all goals and aspirations you’ve set for yourself. You got this life thing. No doubt.

Love the podcast man, appreciate the emotion from the family time. As I get older I take for granted the great childhood I had all due to my parents and younger brother. We moved from Trinidad to Toronto when I was a lot younger and solely because of my family it was a really easy transition, thanks this pod was nice to spark those old memories this early in the morning especially with it being -4 in Toronto today.

I was locked up 5 times, all for opiate addiction. Their thought is to lock you up to go through withdrawals cold turkey (I can’t ever explain in words how torturous that was), get clean time, and “give you time to think about it.” The entire time, all you can think about is how you can just off yourself. They think that their Sunday church services and half hour long NA/AA jailhouse meetings are enough to get you through and enough for aftercare so that inmates stay clean and don’t return. I’ve watched men get released that would go to all meetings and talk about how excited he was so excited to be clean and be with his children and wife, and then be back a few days later, if not that NEXT day. It’s a terrible way to go about things.
