As someone who got close to um....KMS in the middle of highschool, this ending...when Shinji says his monologue of self realization/self worth and "My life is worth living here!", I always end up bawling when I rewatch the series. Like I understand why a lotta people despise this ending but at the same time, I just wanna shout "You get close to the roof edge with no railing, step back after not wanting to then come talk to me about this EVA ending."

@@mviouscosplay I hate saying it, but I really do feel it's a case of people just not getting it/missing the point with the ending, like I get not liking how atypical it is, but everything it says and asks of the viewer is so true to the show and Anno, I'll never get how someone can get it and still not like it. Crazy behaviour.
