Jack Sheldon, a jazz trumpeter and singer who was known for his work on 'The Merv Griffin Show' and 'Schoolhouse Rock', passed away on December 27th, 2019 at the age of 88... He was the voice of the Conjunction Conductor in “Conjunction Junction" on 'Schoolhouse Rock', also the voice of the bill on "I'm Just A Bill"... May he R.I.P.

Original is better--a classic. Why mess with it? the Ray Charles-like septuagenarian growl of the original vocalist is what made it so unique and memorable. It was so unexpected and that's why it worked so well. Like "Naughty Number Nine".
