I love Conjunto Bernal!!!!! My fav band of all times!!! I wasn't born in that era but my dad was and learned to play ALL of his records on the accordion by the time he was 10yrs old! I grew up listening to that music!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!!!

Y No Olvidemos Que El Señor Gerardo Reyes Grabo Un Lp con el Conjunto Bernal el cual yo conosco como uno de los mejores lps que he escuchado el señor Luis Perez Meza tambien grabo algunas canciones con Gilberto Perez. El Grupo Los Truenos de Texas son de dilley texas y en todos los lps que tengo de ellos nunca falta una cancion de los relampagos del norte Tejano o Norteño los dos generos de musica se necesitaban uno al otro.

@saigo74 A muchas personas no les gustaba el sonido del acordeon de Oscar Hernandez que es el que toca en esta cancion tal vez porque se oye muy italiano, pero en su paso con el Conjunto Bernal Oscar (Oskar) dejó mucha huella... en especial me gusta Palabras del Cielo en la que tocan muy bien Paulino y Oskar.

@tejanochris If you guys didnt live those years of Conjunto Bernal, Los Relampagos, Tony de la Rosa, you cant say much... Conjunto Bernal was a very professional group of players and singers, Los Relampagos with Ramón and Cornelio were discovered by Paulino. Both groups were real great. The good thing of Los Relampagos is that they composed must of their songs. I can assure that Ramon respects Paulino as much as Ricky of Intocable respects Ramon. ¡Viva Conjunto y Norteño!.

Tejano is from the heart. Styles make for great music. Tejano has been progressive, an accordian and a bajo sexto, to a 14 member orquesta, we can feel Tejano music, we recognize it. We dance to it. Tejano Chris, Do not confuse conjunto music with Tejano music. They are very distinct and different sounds. The instrumentation is also very different. While there are excellent according players such as Bernal and Oscar Hernandez, Tejano music uses keyboards and horns and sometimes includes the accordion. Tejano music, in most cases, uses heavy power house arrangements as to where conjuntos depend soley on the according for it's melodies and counter melodies. Not to mention two note chords on the bajo sexto compared to progressive chords on the guitar. Totally different styles.

+Vik Lares Tejano and banda are two totally different genres. Most bandas sound like a beginner band and/or uneducated musicians, playing out of control blaring instruments. Tejano music is much more progressive, and the instruments sound more controlled, with educated or trained musicians playing them. As far as what a conjunto is, you and I are in agreement. I was a big fan of El Conjunto Bernal.

Vik Lares Treviño, no quise hacer menos a la Tejano Music. La comparación es porque Tejano y Banda usan metales. Y si es cierto que la musica de banda es muy desordenada y muy ruidosa. A mi me gusta la musica tejana pero mas la de Conjunto, porque yo anduve tocando en California, en los mismos bailes de Bernal y Los Relampagos.

Vik Lares Yo fui musico tampien, y toce con orchestas y unos conjuntos. Pero logre tocar en los mismos bailes con barious artistas populares de las musica tejana. Yo conoci a unos integrantes del Conjunto Bernal. Juan Sifuentes, y Chacha Jimenez. No recuerdo si toce un bailes con El Conjunto Bernal, pero si toce como integrante, con el conjunto de Ruben Perez aka La Pulga, que fue cantante de Bernal. La verdad, es que no me gustaba tocar mucho con conjuntos.

Sorry ruco you're forgetting Norteno was around. Our music wasn't called Tejano during the Bernal era. Tejano's for the most part did not embrace Norteno at least not at the dsnce halls I went to. But who cares we love our music, even without a name we know it when we hear it VERDAD

.....Paulino asked Los Madrugadores del Valle (whom by the way started their music career in the areas of Reynosa), but Los Madrugadores del Valle were already commited to another record company. Don Jose Guadalupe Hernandez (accordion player for Los Madrugadores del Valle) pointed Paulino to Reynosa and told him where to find Ramon & Cornelio. If you study Ramon & Cornelios history, you will find that they had already been playing with several different groups in Mejico. cont....

I am not against Norteno but I dont appreciate it when people say that Tejano started from Norteno. That never happened. Norteno didnt start until Tejano had already been around.

Paulino DID NOT discover Ramon Y Cornelio. Paulino was lead to them. You see, Reynosa is a hotbed (along with the area of Monterrey) for Norteno musicians (of which were inspired by the Tejano sounds of the 40's). Anyway, Don Jose Guadalupe Hernandez of Los Madrugadores del Valle already knew Ramon & Cornelio AND he was associated with Paulino. SO, Paulino had just come out with his new BEGO studio and was looking for talent. Continued................

Tejano Music started way before the 40s. Actual recordings started in Alice Texas and during the war wax for records was hard to get so they did it in mexico and introduced Tejano Music. Ask the older musicans. Mexico has tried to claim Norteno Music but It didnt happen. It actually came from the Germans and Polish.

Oh come on. You need to study history. During the New Spain era, and the Mexican Republic era, Texas was in the northern part of it. Thus, North and Texano (Yes, it is TEXANO. When TEXAS was named TEXAS the X had the sound of the J. Don't call it TEJAS or TEJANO), are basically the same.

Ramon Ayala is good but not great. Tejanos have 14 years old that can play better than him and sing too. Ramon Ayala came much later after Conjunto Bernal and you cant say that he sings better than Bernal. Norteno Music came from Tejano Music and not the other way around.

Ramon Ayala is way overrated as compared to our good Tejano Bands. Tejano accordian players are much better and put on a better show. I have seen 17 year olds play better then Ramon Ayala.

You should check out Ramon Ayala's accordion when he was young and played w/ Cornelio Reyna (Los Relampagos Del Norte). He was a Bad Ass when he was young. Those two wrote sum beautiful songs together.
