The result doesn't matter, there will still be no Ulster players on the Ireland team for the six nations. For decades, every close selection call has gone against Ulster players. I wonder why that is?

That’s the whole point. They don’t get results. Especially in the top end of European Rugby. They can’t even beat Leinsters B team. Henderson, McCloskey, O’Toole, Herring, Stockdale & Timoney are the only players in and around the Irish squad and that’s about right. Izuchukwu has become more consistent but needs to keep producing big performances because the backrow is fiercely competitive. He’s up against Baird, Ahern, Deegan & Prendergast to even be in with a chance of getting into the Irish backrow. And those players are all having great seasons also. The same goes for McCann too, who I rate highly! Wilson, Sheridan & Postlewaithe could also get call ups at some stage.

The result will matter, some players will get a look in, mainly due to injury to Craig Casy and Conor Murray. Nathan Doak certainly put his hand up
