I'm doing a similar task for my project. I also tried to insert your code in place of mine (i'm using stm32 microcontroller and quectel bg95 module), however the result is always the same: i successfully open the network but i can't connect to the mqtt server (mosquitto for testing purposes). I keep getting +QMTSTAT 0,1 and few times +QMTSTAT 0,3. Do you have any suggestions?

First test authenticate using MQTT Explorer then if that works you have narrowed down the issue.
