The people I know who are famous Melanated people who have Discoid Lupus are the singer Seal and to a lesser extent the rapper Trick Daddy. I don't know if this helps you at all, I do agree with you there needs to be representative photos of how it looks on Melanated people. Especially when they get lupus discoid more severe and more then other nationalities.

In the intro you pointed out Black Men..women high prevalence lupus. Why did you stop there? Hispanic and Asian also have a higher rate of lupus. Thank you Dr Ortiz!

I'm tan I noticed like lil bumps like a rash around my face but the one that stands out is the one on my cheeks they're like lil red dots . I get it when I'm in the sun hope my comment helps

Ive been diagnosed with Discoid Lupus and Systematic Lupus with the butterfly lesion on my cheeks and other symptoms. I've had RA 30+ YRS. I believe that I also have Drug induced Lupus. Hashi, Cushing's and Sjodren's.

I was just diagnosed with Sjogren's and Discoid Lupus as a 33yo white male. The Sjogren's is pretty severe (fatigue, joint pain, etc). Positive ANA (1:1280, maxed out the titer) and SSA+ / SSB+. Bio mother has SLE, but my DS DNA was negative. Any other dudes out there finding themselves as statistical anomalies?

You say the hair don’t grow back but mine grew back. I had 5 spots on my scalp and my hair has grown back. Granted my hair growing extra slow and I have to work a little harder to get it looking like something but it’s here

Thank you for sharing this information. My neuro diagnosed me with ANNA(antinuclear antibody). Sometimes, more often than not, when I go out in the sun or get near a warm/hot surfaces, even next to other persons I get hot flashes. In the sun I get swelling on my body, red face and it feels like needle sensation on my body. Doctors never prescribed anything bc they said that I have asthma and it's the same side affects.. I didn't know you can't be in the sun if you have asthma.. so they prescribed me with meds for asthma disregarding all the possibilities for lupus. All though every thing happened on my thirties

I have been suffering from Lupus disease for some year without having a solution to it until i done a research on KZbin i come and cross Dr.Auchi on KZbin channel. Ich hatte 3 Jahre Ruhe, konnte sogar gut in die Sonne gehen ohne irgendeine Auswirkung und ohne jeglichen Sonnenschutz! Aber jetzt ist es wiedergekommen. Ich weiß nicht was diesmal der Auslöser war. Evtl. eine starke Gesichtsentzündung nach Soolantra Creme, die ich kurz zuvor hatte. Oder doch wieder Sonne, Östrogenüberschuss, emotionaler Stress, neue Nahrungsergänzungsmittel, Heilsteine (die ich mir 2 Monate zuvor zugelegt hatte)? Ich weiß es nicht 😢

Nehme jetzt Gerstengrassaft und Kurkuma + Orthomol Hair Intense. Aber auch immer noch Clarelux Schaum auf der Kopfhaut. Meine Gesichtshaut ist sehr gut geworden, jetzt warte ich auf neue Haare! 🙏🙏

I developed discoid lupus on my face when I was 23 years old back in the 70s. It went away when I stopped smoking.

I have those lesions and was told it's psoriasis. I also get the plaques aside from those circle ones and have scars from the circle ones on my legs and upper abdomen.

I’m a patient of discoid lupus started in 2009. Never got diagnosed to 2014 many attacks but still my nose flares itches and peels. Can somebody recommend what would be a great facial getting older I’d really like to get something to rejuvenate the skin, the nose is already scarred, anybody info please?

I've had a spot since being prescribed bactrim for a uti. It got pretty big. For the last month I've used a castor oil pack on it. The results have been good! I did not want to go back on plaquenil and this has been a great alternative.

I think with all the info you are giving, is that my sister might have lupus... She has hair loss, fatigue, and occasionally gets these rashes. But she only gets them when it's cold

I was diagnosed at age 7. Mine is mainly on my scalp and around the hair line. I have many bald spot and hyperpigmentation around my hairline and forehead.

@@romanysmith2644 Unfortunately no, but I have been avoiding sugars and processed foods for about 2 weeks now. I am going to see if having a cleaner diet will keep my scalp healthy. Good luck to you!

@@axiasaul1 thanks for ur reply .hope u get on well trying that out. Definitely iv found too much sugar my skin n scalp do flare up.its so frustrating. Last week I was prescribed a steroid cream & every 2 -3 nights I massage olive oil onto my scalp , leave it over night then shampoo. Scalp starting to feel better ,after 2 weeks I stop the steroids n hopefully start to feel normal. This illness Definitely affects my everyday living. I'm also trying not to eat so much processed foods & sugar.. wish u all the best. It's been so good to share with someone that is going through the same. Dr. Orirz information is so helpful.

Thank you Doctor. You need Sony A6600, Sony 9a ||, or Sony A7R. These cameras have the best auto focus in all DSLR cameras. Anyways I am having extremely itchy rashes around my jaws and my chin. All of this happened 1 year after my Covid 19 infection. My doctor told me that my immune system is attacking my skin and my hair follicle. Do you thing I'm suffering from Discoid Lupus? and what medication do I need?

You are an amazing doctor .I wish your my doctor ! I have had SEVERAL tests to see if I have auto immune issues all NEGATIVE .Last week another battery of tests fir autoimmube ( last test I had HIGH B 12 ( 2000) and finally I am seeing my neurologist to go over my result . It took MONTHS to receive a rheumatologist mine is not until the END of May .Yet I get red rashes on my face when I take a shower, only in the morning the " butterfly " rash ( patches ) burning. The only oddity when I take an allergy pill they disappear in a half hour. I do have tanglina, neuopathy in my fingers arm sometimes in my feet .Very rarely joints ache at night in more like they lock .Inflamation eye and periodic dandruff with hair stands coming out . I am at my wits end...I all I want is an answer to know of this inflamation issue or dermatitis skin allergy issue or something else. I get cokd sometimes and fatigue and I do have a nodulevon my thyriod .

Hope you can see a Dr., and can get a diagnosis, but especially feel better. I have been sick for a long time with many of the same symptoms. I have fibromyalgia and possibly lupus. It takes a really long time to diagnose sometimes.

My Dermatologist said it doesn’t always show in the blood.. but you have to have like 6 of the symptoms . Before they say you have it… my Dermatologist said it might not show up in blood work till you are dying….

@@CampLJNCit took the Dr. 10 years to tell me I have lupus.. and that’s because not all the symptoms come out all at once… I got to where I was having trouble walking because my knees swelled up as big as my upper legs .. and all my joints started swelling.. and I had rashes all the way up my arms…when my R . Dr. Seen my rashes he jumped up and started checking my Lungs and asking me if I had trouble breathing…

Out of curiosity.. Have you encountered any Hidradenitis Suppurativa at your practice? I know it’s not considered auto immune but it’s widely known as “auto inflammatory” ?? Anywho, I’m an unfortunate sufferer since I was around 18 (32 now) :/ and I whole heartedly believe it is auto immune or related and due to a recent bout of heavy hair loss, joint pain, rash, coupled with a looong list of symptoms I’ve had since about 23 years old I am getting my own blood work done through a lab, an ana, rheumatoid factor, inflammation marker, a few thyroid test, and a basic comprehensive physical blood panel.. I don’t have medical insurance and I make just a bit too much to get government assistance. I’m rambling at this point but I WILL figure out what’s going on with my body and I will be my own advocate insurance or no insurance and I’ll prove it’ not anxiety or “all in my head”

I am a woman of color and an RN. I hit my head on the edge of a metal shelf while helping a patient about 2 years ago. I saw a bald spot sometime later and after testing I have been diagnosed with Discoid Lupus by a dermatologist. I believe it’s the result of trauma otherwise I don’t have any other rashes or lesions anywhere else. I wanted to find information as to whether this is permanent or will it ever resolve.

Have discoid lupus. I get flares on my face and now my arms and legs . I am also now suffering from bad migraines and joint pain. My hairs starting to thin and fall out. The drs say it's just doscoidal but idk its not just my skin. From all this I'm starting to feel severely depressed as well. Certain foods can also trigger symptoms as well as sun and oddly screens . 😔 trying to stay positive but its hard.

I used to have the same situation. All my symptoms have started healing from prolonged water fasting. I highly recommend looking at KZbin videos about it

@@tanja7050 I’m healing the legions on my scalp and body with zero medication. I’m on a prolonged water fasting program that helps my body heal itself. After several months of fasting on a scheduled basis, I’m off medication, (plaquenil). Fasting is the cure for all autoimmune conditions I’m learning
