This sooo kewl. I did some with 30ga. copper wire and superglue. I think my rice paper base will be much better and much sturdier to apply the conductive coating. Thanks Jason!

thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials. These are truly very impressive. What is the function of using baking soda with the glue? Is it to get some structure, or is it to make it more adhesive? Thank you for your time

You're so awesome! all your tips are going to help my jewlery business boom! I have learned more from you than any other electroforming tutorials! I have a question for you about a product i purchased as a possible soldering replacement tool... it's called "Just for copper" and is a solderless copper and brass bonding adhesive. I am wondering if this is a safe produce to use to solder my copper rings together instead of the usual method of soldering. let me know what you think! Thanks Jason!

Hi Jason, thank you for the tutorial and a quick question here please. After applying those superglue, we just have to paint the conductive paint where we want the electroforming to form, right? =)

Hi, love this! so are you giving up on the epoxy completely? I use the one you use and find it to be so messy when using the dremel. I love this idea!
@barryrichards50157 жыл бұрын
Funny. You had the Smith CA gel in the epoxy putty vid. Wondered why you were using that instead of the CA glue. There is also the spray catalyst for the CA glue, but the Na bicarb adds volume and a structure. And is pretty inexpensive.

If there is some baking soda dust left on the piece, I assume the pH of the tank will suffer. Do you rinse in water and let dry?
@The_Salty_Siren6 жыл бұрын
It basically gets melted into the glue bc of the heat those glues produce while curing so it seals itself. You'll also be painting with conductive paint afterwards so it gets that coating as well. I suppose if you're worried, you could rinse it after the 24 hr cure time. Sorry I know I'm not the channel owner but I am an avid electroformer of a few years. I just use plain old gel super glue with no baking soda then paint with conductive paint after it cures & none of my pieces fall apart bc I rely mostly on the copper forming process to ultimately hold everything together 👍.

@@The_Salty_Siren hello Salty Siren, thank you for your useful tips. What is the function of the baking soda , is it to the glue dry quicker, or I will ask the channel owner?

I’ve been trying to do something similar, but I can’t seem to get the superglue (Gorilla Glue gel) to ever dry even with baking soda. The baking soda hardened the surface about 25% of the way, while the glue underneath is totally wet even after an hour. Any tips?

Vien Yava Clean your anode with steel wool. Change your voltage and mili amps around to see what works best. Another trick is to layer. Put a thin layer down. Dremel it with wire brush. Clean with acetone or paint thinner. Repeat. Going for one big thick plating results poorly for me.
