u can,t you have create all your cabinetry in mozaik

It doesn't work in that direction...but you can create a product in Mozaik that uses a SU model as the viewable item and add custom parts to build it with. A bit more advanced, but very possible. For an example of what I am talking about, check out the pull out trash units in the insert library. They use a SU model for visual purposes, but there are user added parts/machining to parametrically adjust to a given opening that allows you to make the trash unit.

Hey Cabinets not shown in the sketchup model after export from mozaik. furthermore, C: Sketchup folder doesn't have Plugins folder. In tool fixit I don't have options "View SketchUp plugin Folder".

Hi I'm a cabinet maker and I currently build and design everything by hand. I just bought a cnc and I got mozaik with it. I'm wondering is mozaik enough? Do I need sketch up at all? I tried to do some research but couldn't find anything. When to use sketchup vs moziak/pros and cons. Thanks for any answers.

Mozaik is all you really need for 98% of the projects and what doesn't fit in that box can be if you buy Vcarve Pro for the odd ball stuff needed in cabinetry from time to time. Sketchup will be more important to consider as you advance in Mozaik and vcarve. SU allows you to add graphic items to Mozaik and SU is great for banging out odd shapes and them importing into vcarve.

I'm new to Mozaik - I only have sketchup 2022 on my computer and its not creating a ruby file. Do I need to download an older version of the Sketchup to connect to Mozaik first?

Go to C: Mozaik > Utilities Folder > and grab a copy of the Mozaik.rbs file in that folder. From there go back into Mozaik>Tools>Sketchup Fix-it>Click the folder tab "View Sketchup Folders"> you should see Sketchup 2022 folder in the window that opens. Open the folder and the Sketchup Folder inside and then paste the .rbs file in the plugins folder. From there you should be good to go!

Hi, I am a remodeling contractor and I use Sketchup to model bathrooms and kitchens for clients. My cabinetmaker uses Mozaik for his plans, and I am wondering if there is a way for me to import his 3D model from Mozaik into my Sketchup 2022 (different computers). Is there a file he can send me that I can import? We tried using a DXF file but it only opens it as a 2D floorplan.

Does your cabinet maker have any version of Sketchup at or below 2022 in addition to Mozaik? If so, ask them to send the project out of Mozaik to SU first, then "save as" to their desktop or other location they want to temporarily store it. From there they can open up their email and simply attach the SU file and send to you. Your SU 2022 will open any previous version he may have. Best of luck! (FYI..if it is a large file, they may need to send a cloud file link)

I recently installed mozaik and it won't let me go to SketchUp 2022. I did the steps in the video and it doesn't work. It only gives me the option to download SketchUp 8 and it works.

@@waukeecabinetworks5690im having the same problem and i tried this but it doesnt work. I have SketchUp 2024 and still just opens SketchUp8. I tried to make SketchUp 2024 open instead of Sketchup8 but I cant find the right file to do so.
