Sorry Mike - we should've made a close up of the adapter.. Apple iPhone only works with Apple lightning to HDMI adapter. Apple part number is MD826AM

Most HD Projectors tell you that you can connect your phone wirelessly. This is not always so. Your phone must be able to 'support MHL'. Many android phones will not connect because they do not support MHL.

This is why we always recommend to check if your phone has video output at your phone manufacturer's website. Also MHL is a wired (and not wireless) standard of video signal transmission

If you connect your phone via HDMI cable - it'll mirror to your external monitor/projector anything that appears on your phone, including camera preview. There might possibly be a small lag though

I cannot get my Motorola Edge UW 2022 to connect to cast, and using wired, it doesnt play video. I have C to HDMI cable and it doesnt work

Not every phone that has Type C out is able to output HDMI signal. The first step for your would be to Google if your exact model is capable of outputting wired video. Also we noticed that not every Type C to HDMI adapter works with every phone. Hope it helps

Sure Xanian! Any HDMI-enabled projector will support Lightning to HDMI adapter. I even tried this adapter with DVI to HDMI dongle and it worked with the old Sanyo projector

The phone should automatically start mirroring to a TV (or at least ask for your confirmation) if it does not happen - please check if your phone model supports HDMI out Google request should be the following '*your phone model* HDMI output'

Theoretically it should just work fine as regular, but output what you see on the screen and audio to your projector. Are you plugging in through Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter?

We disagree. On important outdoor movie events we bring the movie downloaded on an iPhone in case there are any problems with Blu-ray disk. As plan B. Alternative scenario you download your content to watch offline, get your projector on a trip to the cabin in the woods - no need for Wi-Fi as well.
