Welcome! God has put it on our hearts to record these videos so Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people can have access to worship music in their language, whenever they want. The focus is to engage in worshipping God together, not "performing" ASL. The sign choices are deliberate and were chosen so that they can be easily followed with the captioning. This is so beautiful. I'm neither deaf, nor mute, and I don't know sign language. And watching these videos helped give me a much deeper understanding of what it means to recognize Jesus Christ's voice - that the meaning of "voices" have an even deeper meaning than only what we can hear with our ears.

Wow this is Gorgeous! I hear this song all the time at church and I had signed it a few times, but not like this. Being a CODA I thought I knew how to interpret this well. This is a pretty good translation of this song. I have been hard pressed to find good song translations of hymns on youtube. You guys have done a great job in many of your translations, although there are some where I'd encourage further unpacking so that the ASL is clearer in conveying the song's meaning and moving away from being too literal. Very difficult to interpret contemporary music as you understand the difficulties. The Deaf do not benefit much, from contemporary music /songs and I must Sign ASL, but at times it's quite difficult! Thank you so much for making these videos! I have been dabbling in ASL with my kids this past year and just recently thought of adding ASL to the way I worship Jesus through song. It is so powerful! Now I look forward to finding out the songset for the service that week and looking up videos so I can learn the signs. I was completely blessed last Sunday as I've tried hard not to be distracting to those around me singing and an acquaintance told me afterwards that the signs during the songs really blessed her! What a gracious blessing God gave both of us! Keep 'em coming! ;) Would you consider doing "Before the Throne of God Above"?

+speedysweetheart Here is one advise from our Rock Church Intepreter: Slow song that she can copy. Print the words and write the translation above the words. Practice at her own pace without music until she is smoother and can remember the signs. Then add in the music.

Hi. I have a quick question. I am studying ASL and want to become an interpreter. For the part of this song that says "On that day when my strength is failing" I was curious why she signed: future/my/strength/shape? It looks like the sign for shape so i was just curious if that was the right sign or if I am mixing up the sign with something else

Valerie, the sign used (that looks like "shape") is one that is commonly used for something deteriorating or failing, as in, strength or health deteriorating. :)
