I bought one of these as a birthday present for my wife. Unfortunately, waiting for her birthday ran out the 30 day return clock, so we're stuck with it. Assembly will require two things they don't mention: A tap and die set (U.S. not metric this time), and a roll of black duct tape. Assembly was straightforward except for the fact that the screws don't go in the threaded holes. The factories in China run their taps well beyond their useful life, so you have to chase the holes. I've had this problem with other products, not just Nordictrack. The vertical ones are too deep for a standard tap, but those did just barely work without chasing. This may be why they're having the factory ship with screws in the holes, so at least you can get them started. But the ones for the long screws that hold the handle bars onto the machine just wouldn't work at all. Once you get past the thread problem, the rest of the assembly is easy. The other problem is the plastic covers that are supposed to snap around the screws you just put in to hold the uprights to the base. The little loops break off. The cover on the right side is particularly important because it protects the delicate little wires that connect the controls and screen to the motors. I like Gorilla brand tape for this. The wi-fi thing was a mess, more so than is typical. We had it working for a while, fortunately long enough to determine that it was completely useless and unnecessary. There's a paperclip in a hole reset that solves that problem, but leaves you with their clunky manual mode. It takes three minutes to boot up, and you have to do two screen presses to get into manual mode. Use it immediately because there's a ten minute time-out that'll shut it down and make you do the re-boot again. The screen would be nice if you could get KZbin, Amazon, Netflix, etc. on it. But it's really just there to upsell you on their canned workouts. The solution to the screen thing is to just hang an iPad in front of it. The iPad is smaller than the screen, so we put a piece of cardboard between them to eliminate the glare. The high step up from the floor to the belt is annoying. It's quieter than the old one it replaced, but it has an intermittent squeak that seems to sync with some footsteps.

Hello. I bought the Elite 800 from Costco just over a month ago. After smoke started coming out of the console nearly 2 weeks ago, I emailed service and after more than a dozen further emails, I am STILL waiting for any kind of resolution. Buyer beware.

I like the review done. Very well thought out and explain if your a taller person. I’m 6-4. That all being said I couldn’t help but nothing that it appears that’s it’s placed in an almost garage area, not exactly sure but looks like it. When I was ordering my x32i I was asked by a representative where it would be placed and I stated the garage. The rep. Told me my warranty was automatic voided if it was not placed inside the house 🤔. Which I didn’t see that in the fine print when ordering it. But we shall see. And the delivery company delivered it on a horrible busted pallet. Yes I have pics of the delivery. It’s all documented. Hope that helps. I’m not saying it’s bad. I’m still setting it up.

Hmmmm, I was thinking about getting this but it has to go in the garage. Guess it's a no then. Their warranty is not as good as others though. How do you like it so far? I really wanted it for the incline.

@@ajohnson6416 it works very well actually. I’m a little late getting on it this morning. Now that I’ve had it at the 18 months mark the screen is a little distorted. But I’m sure that’s from me leaving it on 24/7. And yes mine is also out in the garage. I was told that same crap about they wouldn’t warranty it if not keep inside.🤦🏿‍♂️

I’m 6’3 and debating x22i vs 2450, i feel like the 2450 vertical screen is easier on neck than looking as far down to x22i. What are your thoughts on this?

How’s the noise? I’m trying to get a treadmill that is on the quieter side of things. I tend to run at 9mph at a 2 percent incline

It’s definitely not quiet. It’s gotta A LOT of shock absorption (which I love!) but it’s part of what makes this a bit noisy to run on.

Ignored for 5 months while waiting for them to send service tech. I finally just paid them myself to fix it ($1000). It's under warranty and I bought the extended warranty. I have 5 service ticket numbers, and they've all been ignored since NOV 22. They won't reimburse the money I spent. I'm spending as much time as I can trying to warn people, and waiting for the class action lawsuit to start. I would never buy Nordictrack again.

What was your problem? I had the x32i and to be honest it was a great machine but the frame snapped which apparently cannot happen( but it did) but I hadn’t completed warranty which is stupid as they took my money that should be the warranty guarantee, so replaced it with the 2950 which was so badly calibrated I reported it after it’s second use and it took 100 emails and as many phone calls to get the hunk of junk collected and I’m awaiting a refund from Fitness superstore. The real problem is that all from all retail or online sales any problem you get referred to the manufacturer which is icon and they are pretty useless so now I have to try and find a more reliable brand

Hi, thanks for the review. I have three questions: can you program your own sessions outside of ifit? Can you connect it to the Garmin watch via BT? And finally , can you use the screen do anything else than ifit ( movies, clips , etc). Cheers

- You can create your own routes on Google Map. Or you can choose to "Just Run" and decide your own pace/incline. I don't think you can create workouts outside of the routes on the google map feature. - if the Garmin can broadcast Heart Rate via bluetooth, it should be able to get picked up (I don't have a Garmin so cannot confirm). - I have heard of people being able to watch Netflix and other apps but I have also heard that recent updates have made this more difficult to do. I don't mess with it because I don't want to run into issues connecting to iFIT.

yes but I am not sure buying any connected fitness equipment is worth the extra cost if you do not plan to use the intended membership.

@@s_k12 Yep. You just have to choose "Manual Start" in the top right hand corner. You get a screen that shows a quarter mile track and all your statistics are up top. I cannot stand how peloton destroys the user interface if you aren't a member that now I check on those things before buying. iFit checks out!

@@Eskayo604 Yes. I'm taking them to small claims court. Only after I served them did they leave a vm saying how they realize I've had issues with the machine and now they want to replace it after a whole year of trying to get them to this or issue a refund. I'm proceeding with my claim so they will stop messing with people. I'm shocked they act like scammers.

Received ours on 10/4 and it stopped working yesterday 10/17 after a run. Screen turns on but belt won’t move and I’ve tried everything and still doesn’t work. After googling about it, I’ve read about so many nightmares others have encountered with similar situations and how it isn’t resolved. So not looking forward to the phone call on Monday with them.
