Awesome video. I think the CSS Battle could implement this feature (hide the output).

In the third task, the middle circle can use outline, doesn't need another div for inner-container
@ConnerArdman2 жыл бұрын
Ah nice, that does sound simpler. I always forget outline exists for some reason 😅

Hey, great video. The last one was a bit overwhelming for me. What i figured out is that You don't have to guess the size as You know the target window size and It could contain like 6 balls in 1st one or 13 widths of the border elements in 2nd one. So you can just divide the numbers.
@ConnerArdman2 жыл бұрын
Ah yeah I'll make sure to use this next time. I didn't realize it told you the size of the window, I was just completely making up numbers 😅

It is a really interesting idea haha. Have you considered doing some tutorial video projects (website clone, etc.) which contain React, NextJS, or Django? It must be really interesting.
@ConnerArdman2 жыл бұрын
I might do some, although I don't love the idea of doing tutorials just because there are so many out there on KZbin already. We'll see though, I might do a few at some point.

As a newbie, I found it difficult to complete the second challenge even with eyes open. Seeing get things right is impressive. You've earned a new subscriber
@ConnerArdman2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yeah these problems are definitely more difficult than they first seem. I don't think I could confidently solve half of the CSS Battle problems even while seeing the output.

I am so flabbergasted and perplexed as to how can someone be so good? You are probably the only guy I've seen with such excellent command over CSS.
@ConnerArdman2 жыл бұрын
Thanks haha, but there are definitely people who are _much_ better than me at CSS. For what it's worth, I chose problems that I knew would be challenging but possible without seeing the output. There are plenty of CSS Battle questions that I wouldn't even get close to without seeing it (maybe I'll show one of those the next time I do this). Also, I actually think the level I'm currently at is very achievable. Really once you understand CSS layout correctly (mainly box model, position, flex, and grid), you can get to a point where you don't need to constantly use a guess-and-check strategy. I don't think this is much different than once you properly understand control flow in regular programming, you can write decently complex programs without checking your work too often.

@@ConnerArdman thanks for your insights I am just beginning my CSS journey. Any tips for Newbie CSS learner?
@ConnerArdman2 жыл бұрын
I think it really just comes down to focusing on fundamentals. The biggest issue I have seen with people learning CSS is getting in the "as long as it works mindset," where you just try things until it works. If you focus on the understanding and making sure you always know why the code works, it can actually be fairly straightforward to learn. From there, just practice a lot with different types of projects and you'll get there. Good luck! 😊
