In football this just became more intense since they took Braunschweig over Hanover as a founding member of the Bundesliga back in the 1960s, even though Hanover had the higher viewer count, the higher budget and a more succesful recent past with the championship in '54. What you need to know: the Ultras are the hardcore fans but they are not violent or want to show violence in any way. The hooligans are those fans, who would even punish the opponents supporter. They are the violent part of the fans. There's an important difference between those two words.

Ihr kennts euch wohl überhaupt nicht aus. Durch die Trennung in Ost- und Westberlin hatten die beiden Vereine nie wirklich was miteinander zu tun. Die Herthaner sind sogar öfters zu den Unionern rüber, und es gab ne Fanfreundschaft.

Da kennt sich aber jemand überhaupt nich aus. Die Fanfreundschaft gibt es schon seit ewigkeiten nicht mehr, inzwischen können sich grade die Jüngeren vertreter beider seiten nicht mehr riechen. is n ganz "normales" Stadtderby.

Ich habe geschrieben, ,,gab" nicht gibt. Ein richtiges Stadtderby ist es nicht weil es gar keine Historie der Feindschaft gibt wie zum Beispiel in München zwischen rot und blau. Und dass die Herthahools Bock auf Stress haben is sowieso klar.

Although I am a Bayern Munich fan, i have to say that you really have to visit a Eintracht Frankfurt (maybe Dynamo Dresden, Borussia Dortmund) game. The fans are crazy. If you want to watch the best football Germany has to offer, you have to visit Bayern Munich (but the fans there are not as loud and crazy as they are in Frankfurt, Dresden or Dortmund).
