I mean its a nice thought but these news shows are giving US what WE want. As a collective people don't want news anymore. They want a Jerry Springer type interview with the interviewer talking over the person they are interviewing. Americans want an echo chamber not an unbiased news piece. Unbiased news does not get ratings. People who are not outraged, furious, scared, etc they dont stay on the channel watching 24/7 or hit the sites. Connie would in fact be fired today for not being part of it.

24hr news is destroying media’s credibility. I never knew Connie was so funny & candid. I grew up watching her & Barbara & wanted to be like them. They’re intelligent, brave, sincere, compassionate, & honest. They’re badasses!
@Christopher_Robert_EvansАй бұрын
I think the 24hr news channels should have been a great opportunity to cover the news from all over the world. Yes, it will expensive and will require a lot of journalists, producers, editors etc. but we would be so much better informed about what is truly happening outside the bubbles we all live in and outside the countries we live in. In my opinion even a nightly 30 or 60 minutes news program should cover at least one major news event from all continents, all the ongoing wars & major conflicts, and all of the problems, and hopefully solutions, that impact major & influential countries and the entire world like climate change. We just need a wealthy corporation or a wealthy individual to fund such an operation to assemble a great group of journalists etc. who are willing to bring a 100% factual & informative news product to the public. I think HBO’s The Newsroom gave a glimpse of how a nightly news program like this could be. There are nowadays a few independent online news outlets like Zeteo who are trying to do this, albeit on a limited set of topics, so it is getting better. But corporate media is rarely doing this, mainly due to the profit motive being the major driver for how they cover the news and which news they cover, in my opinion.

It's heartwarming how much Ronnie genuinely has reverence for her. I don't think about Asian-American reporters having it rough, particularly not after Full House's pandering. But she earned her place and a place for all people of Asian decent. Like Ronnie said, we don't know our history. I'm happy he does.

I hurt my leg, and I couldn't climb back up. So fighting every natural instinct, doing the thing that seemed most awful to me, I climbed down into the darkness. And that's how I got out. when I got back to base camp, I went and found my fellow climber, the one who had cut me loose after I fell. And I said, ''Connie Chung, you did the right thing.''" 😂
