Go check out Kovalchuk's rookies season if you want to see a #1 pick on a terrible team make his team better rather than worse.

Marchand, Gaudreau, Kane, Caufeild, Debrincat. There’s plenty of undersized guys who thrive in the league. And he’s got more bulk on him than most of those guys. He’ll be fine

@@Borodin410 No, YOU don't know the game. He had no help last year. It was gonna be a struggle to begin with and then Taylor Hall got hurt for the year in November and Corey Perry was kicked off the team for misconduct also in November. Some other injuries to a bad defense didn't help either.
