Dude today I finally got my coils cut on my 280ZX, to the same height you did yours, as well as new kyb struts and a prothane suspension bushing kit. The car is sitting at the height I envisioned and when it settles it should be the perfect height!!! Thank you so much for making these videos man, it's trail-blazing for the rest of us! The car rides great and I am very satisfied with the handling improvements (I also previously installed a performance rear sway bar as well as strut tower stabilizer bars). I'm finally finished my suspension mods/upgrades and am ready to focus on adding more horsepower!

I'd shift attention to the rear .....I owned many ZX's and Zs back in my day....the ZXs had this horrible squatting issues in the rear, but it's something that can be remedied. Beautiful ZX...I can't wait to buy another one.!

I've swapped in Koni struts since then and the squat is nearly gone, and thanks!

Looks like a nice setup in front. When I had a 280ZX, I ran Tokico struts/springs, T3 tension rods, and T3 bumpsteer spacers. They didn't make the lower control arm back then.

What shocks/struts are you using with the cut springs?
@HooliganGarage-6503 жыл бұрын
At the time, I was using Tokico HP's. Now I am on Vogtland springs and Koni Yellows.

The clunking could b solved by putting insulators on the bottom spring. It fixed my clunking. Overall incredible car & mods

I would like to upgrade my rear sway bar to get a bit more oversteer. Should I be concerned about the stock rear control arms not being thick enough to support this upgrade, or is that just with the front control arms? Thx
@HooliganGarage-6505 жыл бұрын
You won't need to worry about the rear arms, as the sway bar mount in located towards the center of the arm, and on the front its just a metal tab that sticks out of the side.

Nice front end, now it needs some redesigned components for the rear preferably with improved kinetics.

Yes, some adjustable rear control arms would be great to counter the excessive rear toe-in that these cars get when lowered.

hows the 240z paint job coming along
@HooliganGarage-6505 жыл бұрын
Pretty slow TBH. Some parts are painted, some are not, one section needs to be resprayed. Probably looking at the end of the year.
