I may have heard you in the past and not known it. But I know you now.... I really like what I have heard in this song. It pulls it right out and places it on the table to look at. Its a rare talent that can cut right to the heart. Thank you!

All of Conor’s music is amazing... highly recommend you delve deep into his entire catalogue, starting with Bright Eyes, his most well known band he formed as a teenager! I love him so very much... he literally saved my life. Much love to you, friend. 💕

Just because you got it You don't have to flaunt it With an endless stream of famous men Pretty as a portrait Look like Mamah Borthwick On that Shining Brow of Taliesin Someone might try and burn it down So you'll have to put the fire out A fortune spent but that's irrelevant To build something that's sacred till the end It costs twenty dollars to visit Fallingwater It's a perfect house where no one lives Maybe someone once did but they got evicted by a bus Load full of greedy tourists And it would take a time machine To fulfill all of my fantasies 'Cause a hidden dream can be embarrassing And the only thing that's sacred till the end Every time I tempt fate There's a major earthquake Heard the people scream as the ceiling fell Every building damaged Only one left standing It was Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel A rumination in my mind Winding like the ramp at the Guggenheim And I'm not there yet But I'm feeling confident to build something that's sacred till the end

It’s like Verlaine and Rimbaud without gunshots. Reconciliation never happened mit Verlaine. Well April-cruelest month Eliot-has passed. The lion returns to a lamb.

Anyone care to discuss their interpretations? I can't quite connect all the dots. Overall it seems he's intertwining relationships, and building a lasting one, with the architecture of Wright's. The evicting, greedy tourists and endless stream of famous men represent the casual lovers of the author's lover after their attempt at a lasting relationship came undone - just like Taliesin came undone (by fire) and how Fallingwater's main purpose (being a perfect house) also came to an end. The something that is "sacred to the end" is lasting love. A fortune spend but that's irrelevant mirrors a song from a much earlier era - "Money can't buy me Love." Moreover, the something that is sacred to the end also mirrors a line from the Bright Eyes song "Waste of Paint" about the couple that buys everything in doubles and how they actually got the prize (lasting love) that we were all drugged by via fairy tales. The every time he tempts fate (gets involved in a relationship) there’s an earthquake, i.e. breakup. But then there was finally one that lasted (the Imperial Hotel). While the previous sentence makes sense on some level it doesn’t jive with this line of thinking as it relates to the final verse. The rumination (wanting lasting love) is him not being content. But he’s hesitant to try for it because of the past happenings, ie relationships come undone for one reason or another. The other thing working against this interpretation is the fact that the author is married. In any event, it’s a beautifully written song. Please do share your thoughts.

I'm actually studying all about the life of FLW to write a play about his life. Taliesin means shining brow in welsh and FLW is of welsh origin. Mamah Borthwick was his mistress who was murdered in his Taliesin estate in 1914. Fallingwater was built for the kauffmans but is now a tourist site. FLW's imperial hotel survived a japanese earthquake before it was demolished in the 60's. The guggenheim museum in Manhattan has a winding ramp all the way to the top.

As one searches for a guru, we find all have feet of clay. I live four hours from Fallingwater and have visited it a few times, also Taliesen and FLW's home in Oak Park. The midcentury modern is a favourite period of mine. As a person, Frank was difficult to get along with. Some of his buildings were impractical and the furniture uncomfortable. I don't like that he left his wife and six children to live with a mistress in England.

alot of this was written about/ during his court battle and his mindset... The case, which he won (of course he did, but the damage was servere)was a spear through an un ironed chest. Tachycardia speaks to that. BOCC is AMAZING though, like me some somewhat excited Conor
