As you grow up there’s so many things that you’re taught to keep hidden or keep inside yourself. I’ve been making songs pretty much the same way since I was like 12 years old. There’s something inside you that you want to express, and there’s a hope that someone will be on the other side of it to receive it, you know. I think it’s good to feel like your experience isn’t completely unique.

If someone knows please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, the fact that he sings " no it was not me but I'm the one who has to die " implies that it's a man on trial for murder.
