My first driving test attempt went awfully wrong because I was afraid of stalling and also keeping the car slow. After watching a couple of your videos it's like a a hidden switch was activated in me. My second attempt the examiner said that was her best drive of the day. This video is another good example of how clear and easy you make your lessons/videos. I still watch even after passing 👌

I took my first UK driving lesson today, having to switch from driving Automatic in the US for 6 years to driving manual in the UK now, was quite confusing in the car. This video made it seem so much simpler than the instructor was making it out to be. Many thanks!

i got good at clutch when i realized the 3 stages of engine readiness that the clutch controls and use the rev needle to know exactly when im on the bite. seeing it wake up at 1 quarter clutch, and spot the 100 rev drop at half clutch. its helped me move off perfectly hills or no and gear shift with immaculate precision. i don't need to look any more but your the first person ever to mention this. as for 2mph i gave yup using the speedo they seem to lag at that speed. much easier to just look my surroundings and hold a slow walking or crawling speed

For 20 years while living in New Zealand I drove automatic car on the left side of the road. Now back in Europe I'm learning to drive on the right side of the road, but I find the clutch particularly troublesome. I find I'm not able take on board what I'm being told by the instructor while trying to concentrate on the infernal clutch and traffic around me 😄. I used to think of myself as a good driver, now I hardly feel in control of the vehicle I'm in...🙁. Thank god I found your videos, they help me a great deal 👍🏻🙂.

Your videos are very helpfull thank you. But my main problem is uphill. I struggled controlling my clutch uphill and my monitor instead of helping me on how to do it, his main reason of not being able to do it is because im stressed when it is not the reason, the reason is i am having difficulty to do it. And doing in when there is car being me on a busy road .. the result is lots of honking. Sometimes i get frustrated with my monitor, yes im stressed but not always.

I had a issue with stalling when I pull off as I learnt to first release clutch and after the car is moving then to add gas however the car I bought doesn’t give me much help as it’s a 1999 model. So my first couple of times driving it has consisted of many stalls along the road and it is a shot to my confidence 🙈 I became so discouraged but your video helped me understand this a lot better. Reverse crawling up a steep hill like a driveway took time for me to get used to. The car kept jittering like it needed more gas but i had a habit of speeding the car up when it was crucial i stayed at 1mph as another car was parked in the driveway at the top. I learnt that a bit of gas was needed for the hill but i had to dip the clutch a lot to keep it crawling. Too much dip and the car stopped then began to roll down the driveway.

No heel is the only and most important thing you need to learn about clutching. Its vital to always maintain the same foot position, the same motion. It sill become an automatic action. If you heel it, you ruin that function.

I have driven auto cars for 13 years but I felt disappointed when I couldn't fix my manual driving stalling problems. I realize now that my instructor needs to learn from you that the best practice is to lift your foot when getting to the biting point, combined with a few gas pedals, especially for people with a short foot like me.

As a new driver who passed today for the first time here are some tips for learners; 1. No matter what the officer says or does remember your training (still rember though that officer is in charge) 2. Don't rely only on your lessons, use your off time. 3. Have a support system (I prayed and put my trust in God and relied on my family) 4. Don't tell the entire world cos that makes you feel like you need to impress people which completely defies your support system. 5. Do not be afraid to ask if your not sure what to do on your test. 6. After every lesson sit down and make notes of everything that to you can remember. 7. Be fully dedicated to driving. Use your resources: -watch videos -ask questions -seek advice -read books -download pdfs -go to the necessary extents 8. Learn to understand how your body works when it comes to stress and find the proper management techniques. (reading Bible quotes, praying and knowing that I was prepared was all I needed.) 9. Try not driving when traffic is hectic. 10. Your first impression dictates the likeness the officer has in you but make sure that you dress comfortably. 11. Again do not allow the officer to presurise you. Just breathe, pray and remember your training. If you need any more advise please feel free to respond. I am more than happy to help. God bless❤

Wow this is great advice thank you! I’ve only had 5 lessons so far but did you find it hard to get the biting point at first. That seems to be the hardest thing to get for me.

Which country because in South Africa you need money urgently to pass a driving test?

@@rubiksworld2170 It sounds like you're not from South Africa because in South Africa the driving instructors don't talk about the bite point, only experienced drivers do.. So I'd say if you have the option then don't worry about finding the bite point. Rather focus on Slowly releasing the clutch to the point where the car drops (essentially this is the bite point) and then continue to move off. Changing gears is a slightly different story though since you need to move quicker so that you're not marked as coaching or riding the clutch. That being said I would advise you to speed up slightly, gear up, then release the clutch almost halfway (quicker than clutch control but not too fast), You should have felt the bite point ever so slightly Now you can remove your foot off the clutch. If you can, practice your clutch control even if you're just doing it in your driveway or garage... Etc. Hope that helps.

I love your videos so much. You have a way to explain it clearly. I've been driving for 20 years, with the last 10 months driving manual. It's been a bumpy ride, but thanks to your videos it all makes sense! Thank you!

Hi there Richard. Just wanted to deliver a massive thank you to yourself for all the incredible help and support from your videos. I was fortunate enough to pass second time yesterday having overcome huge mental barriers and anxiety from failing the first time around. Your videos not only delivered really comprehensive breakdowns in a simplified, easy to understand format but your light he#rated sense of humour helped to carry me through and pass! Keep it up my friend and take care, Jack

You are an excellent driving instructor. I learnt to drive 40 years ago and my overwhelming feeling was I needed the precise/muscle memory learning that you are implementing. From my own experience & through conversations with friends, I’ve come to the conclusion that most driving instructors talk too much while the learner is manoeuvring through traffic. What you are teaching is exactly the way driving should be taught!! Shockingly I’m learning new things in your videos after 40 years of driving! 😬

I appreciate this man's distinctive combination of quirkiness and informative content; it's truly refreshing. Although I'm no stranger to manual transmissions, my confidence extends primarily to regular road conditions. Recently, I bought a new truck, requiring me to navigate more challenging environments, including extreme conditions on mountain roads. So, I understand that I need to upgrade my skill set. These videos have proven to be exceptionally helpful.
