Best rose tutorial on KZbin. I have to agree. I'd like to make a request. Please. Add more tutorials for the different types of roses out there now. Please. Not only do you make this super easy to follow along, but you show exactly what you're doing, and how, and where, and its just perfect. I've found that paper roses are best for times when you need to give flowers, but don't want them to die, and with COVID, I've needed to re-look up how to make theses gorgeous roses to gift at funerals. This rose is still my favorite one, but that might just be, because the other tutorials available on different types are not as easy to follow along as this one! Thanks again! So very much!

Awesome and amazing! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm going to be teaching an origami flowers class the day after tomorrow, and I think I will likely attempt to teach the Kawasaki Rose to my students. I'd never folded one before tonight, but thanks to your tutorial, I can now do it without reference, and with luck I'll be able to pass it on, and point folks to your channel. PS I know exactly what you mean when you speak of the excitement of folding one of these for the first time; my heart rose into my throat! It's truly an elegant and magical form, and pleasure in the hand how this form evolves into it's own life. Thanks again for being a most excellent tour guide!

I wanted to make a rose for my deceased father and...it worked :). It was not easy, but I managed to do it from the first try (I admit, I only watched and tried part 1 and 2, but I have a great result!) Thank you!

Dear Conrad, Your techniques are EXTREMELY helpful for delicate papers (I am using 40 GSM), which gets thin very easily from creases and rips when making the centre diamond. Your trick is a life saver because it doesn't require me to 'pop out' the diamond into 3D, only to then flatten again, like the conventional way does. Thank you, thank you, so very much!

Dead Impressed. have spent time and a half trying to learn a rose pattern. This alternative way of getting the first tessellation is spot on. I got a little over ambitious after getting it right first time with the video and tried it off the top of my head a few times. mainly kept tessellating the horizontal and vertical creases instead of the diagonals. But can now do it Sans-video after less than 6 attempts! -Much Kudos and Many Thanks.

If you are using a piece of A4 shaped paper, once you cut a square off Of it, the resulting strip of paper is exactly the right width for a square for the internal Rose. It’s somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 (a bit more towards one third).

This was by far harder than the original. If it weren't for my previous experience in origami (which is nowhere near as much as yours) I wouldn't have been able to pull this off. I've only succeeded in folding the original Kawasaki Rose once, and that was back in high school.

Damn, I don't even know what to say. How did you even think to modify it? I guess you must know Origami very well to be able to be at the point of modifying already complex folds! Haha, well anyway, it's thanks to people like you that others can learn to make such beautiful folds. I really like your modification rose the best!! And also, you're so smart for putting in the tiny rose into the top area. That part made me laugh so hard. >w

It's fine to have the parts loosened up. Crease lines have memory. Later, you will be folding all the corners together again as you cup it in your hand. You are doing fine^^

I usually divide the length of one A4 sheet into thirds. 2/3 for the large rose, and 1/3 for the smaller rose. yes, the exotic art paper i use came in the size of A4. you may use printing paper for easy comparison

In the description he says that he's using parts of an A4 paper. The size of the squares are 9,9 cm and 19,8 cm. I also used A4 but I divided differently. I used a 21 cm and a 8,7 cm square. It wasn't too small to fold

I tried the normal and the modified rose and I think the normal Kawasaki Rose is better, because it is more durable and easier to make. I could not make the modified version to interlock properly and the paper got torn at some outer parts pretty easily. But putting a small one in a bigger one is a very good idea and makes the rose look better.

8:00 sucks! When you fold the trapezoid, it jumps into place automatically. Not in my case. I need to force it into place, but I don't know where to orientate the fold, thus its assymmetric and absolutly ugly that I cannot proceed. :-(

basically, you only have to make a large and a small one and shove the little one in the big one. 1 to 1/4 would be the relation
