Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya

Pleasantly thrilled! Hilton Diamonds will be satisfied with the one category upgrade. Honestly, the bottom room, or the top room, are the only two worth having in these 3 story buildings. Bottom gets you a large plunge pool and ‘probably’ guaranteed wildlife sightings…and top (3rd floor) has a view. The mid floor Is just looking into the trees. The buildings further from the main lobby seem to have nicer and wild ocean views, (casa 1 or 6) where the center buildings show that turquoise bay. Both are good, but for privacy sim for further from the lobby) Less amenities in the room as far as things I would expect like make up remover wipes, and bug spray were available. Still, great staff who are friendly and engaging. Excellent food. The Hilton is next door and all inclusive, but it’s a mile away. The two aren’t mixed in any way. We loved the free to use clear kayaks provided on the beach- to see an unexpected sea turtle (tons of them in Akumal- down the road- but rare here) and we loved snorkeling from the beach there’s a healthy reef! A little seaweed, but they cleaned it, and it was so easy to swim past that couple feet of it into that crystal clear bay. They like secret pathways and pop-up bars in the jungle here. Very creative and special ideas happening at this hotel…it all matches up with the speakeasy craze and focus on “experiences” vs typical blah blah repetition. They are getting it right. Definitely recommend for couples or friends …even solo if you don’t care about meeting many! Kids- not so much. They would probably be happier at the Hilton. Happy to have found this new option in Riviera Maya, that’s an hour from the Tulum airport and 1 hour 20 mins from Cancun airport. Works either way!

Not sure if the prices but the food was excellent ! The food has been expensive in SE Asia and absolutely horrible tasting It’s a luxury hotel here for sure.

And…the toilets flush here! Many places in Tulum proper just have a wastebasket for toilet paper. A little too eco haha
