If the power isn't enough to make you wide-eyed during this video, because you'll see over 3 pure Conrail lash-ups, a former Reading unit, a pure SP locomotive, a candy apple red SOO, southern belle and other foreign power, plenty of SD40-2's...then I know you'll enjoy the wonderful scenes nature has to offer during the Winter to Spring Transition along the NS Harrisburg Line. Starting out at the end of snowy February, and working our way through a sunny and cloudless, sometimes rainy, and goreous sunsetting March, to the day directly before Spring. I was so impressed by the action and scenery during this transition, that I included many (but not nearly all) the video during this past month to make a super 10 minute plus video to show the scenes best captured. I hope you enjoy.

Ethanol empties 69Q head west in the snow with a very rare pure Southern Pacific locomotive. Oddly enough, this was the second time I saw this engine (and I bet there are people along UP tracks who haven't even seen it). I was glad to catch it unpatched, because I think it is destined to become UP 6308.

CP 165 / NS 31J now runs with relic EMD rather than the GE's that had plagued the trains for months. The train is also very early at 21:45. CP has haulage rights back and forth from Binghamton, NY to Philadelphia, PA. This deal still carries through from the D&H on Conrail days. I must say, that is one of the best K3L's I have ever heard.

Westbound Canadian Pacific haulage rights train 165 (NS 31J) makes a historic night with a candy apple red SOO
leader fresh out of the storage line and has a great K3L horn. The train which normally passes this location at 03:00 was very early at 22:00 on the dot.

Train 33A looks more like its predecessor, Conrail BAAL (Baltimore-Allentown), with its pair of smokey former Conrail Dash-8's. The leader was really blowing a lot of smoke, it smelled very strong too.

Eastbound loaded automotive 18N heads east later than usual, and is illuminated in a nice sunset. I was hoping this train was earlier so I could get better light on the rare former Conrail SD50, but I could not be unhappy with how beautiful this sunset is.
