Rupert Spira single-handedly changed my entire life. Im writing this comment right now and am aware that these thoughts appear in me... but "me" is not a thought... me is that which is aware of every single sensation and perception. I see it Rupert, thank you for changing the way "I" experience every moment. Love and Blessings 👏

reverend Eslam ... did Jesus save you or did you save yourself ? sometimes we need a mediator for change if on the other hand it is as Jesus said 'it is your FAITH' that healed you, ' then teh healing is in the relationship between ourselves and the mediator ... at some point someone says something in the way that we HEAR it ...so it is both, both happens, people can help us to make the changes that bring us to the truth

Thank you for sharing. I keep coming back to RS (over many years) because he's so genuine. There's not the slightest "hint" of fabrication and he explains metaphysical concepts using analogies that I can understand and that increase my understanding. In keeping with the title of this video: "Nothing real can be harmed. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God." ACIM

I literally never comment on KZbin but when Rupert said “you don’t have to lock yourself up in a tower… you can have a job, a family…” brought tears to my eyes. It was like an arrow to the heart (in a good way). I will continue to be on this path until I reach recognition/liberation. namaste andالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ.

Heavy duty wake up call ... wakey, wakey. After many years of seeking and reading, listening and watching various spiritual teachers (and practices), I am only now, after many years, beginning to feel (not think) what Rupert is talking about in this video. I have, in the past, grasped some of what he was expressing in that manifest life takes place in and is consciousness (the screen analogy) ... basically all one thing ... consciousness. I have begun to feel that ... life is happening, yet there is something different in my awareness of self (I AM). It is subtle.

Fabulous! I've understood that any kind of suffering is an appearance within consciousness. It feels like an "add-on" to oneself, much like a coat, but is not what you are and can disappear accordingly; it acts as a reminder to connect to our authentic nature of peace itself.

Should we all come to your site or a christian site and start haranguing those who express what beleiving in God has done for them ???DIdn't Jesus say not to judge others ? funny but most Christians seem to have forgotten that bit.

Someone might ask, "But how can I experience this?" FINALLY SOMEONE, WHO WANTS TO SEE BEYOND THE WORDS! 💗 So... for this "purpose", to go beyond the mind, to experience Pure Awareness/Consciousness/Self, we have the so-called pointers. Pointers, like the questions of Ramana, Nisargadatta or even Rupert's brilliant question; "AM I AWARE?" The pointers moves the awareness beyond the mind, into the Self, "the sense I AM", as Nisargadatta put it nicely. Pointers Nr.2; After comfortable seated, ask yourself the question; "WHERE WILL MY NEXT THOUGHT COME FROM?" And just watch, what will happen? After a few sec, ask again the same or this one; "HOW IS MY NEXT THOUGHT LOOK LIKE?" Wonder will happen! 💗

Awareneness cannot be harmed by experience, yet you in your physical form can be by situations, circumstances, and people whom choose a path of inflicting harm upon others. One cannot stand in the middle of a circumstance in which they are being abused, or harm being inflicted upon them and just be all enlightened awareness of oh I Am not harmed by such. The Soul (or awareness) can have this perspective and from the soul or awareness place this is true, yet what is occurring in the physical is affecting the physical form of which awareness is part of. One cannot divorce ourselves from the physical as it is also part of awareness. It is wise dearest Rupert to put these teachings into perspective so as it be free from going into extremeisms.

lady Nenari you ahve misunderstood .. of course who you truly are cannot be harmed ...its very important to reliase this ... since teh world can beat you up for sure !!! Jesus said 'know you are in this world but not OF this world' he was talking of the place in us taht is indestructible. That doesnt mean you go and stand under a falling tree just to see if you will survive the experince !!!... or stay around if someone is trying to assault you ! He is not advocating stupidity !!! But when you are living from awareness not from teh personality, you would be more likely to take the right action is a situation of physcial threat. Once you realise the world is a 'play' and everything we encounter not of an enduring nature, and focus on what IS enduring ... then we can meet the circmstances life brings without being inwardly so affected by them .. If you don't want to go to extrem-isms then don't interpret what he is saying in an extreme way .. whcih is what you ahve done. Rupert is not being extremist, just real !
@wordsofwisdomwithladynenari
@wordsofwisdomwithladynenari 7 жыл бұрын
@Rose Moon, I Am neither interpreting such in extremeism nor misunderstanding. I have personally spent time with Rupert this past January in Oxford so I know he comes from balance. That said, if there are those whom watch this video and are free from knowing of his balance, they can and will take such to extremes. Thus, my writing such above is meant for those who WOULD interpret such in extremeisms in cautioning them and Rupert to be mindful of such beings which I know he is. I happen to know personally of several whom follow Ruperts teachings who DO take such to extremeism ergo my pointing this out as I did so that those who do are aware of such. Because unfortunately and perhaps sadly, there are those in this world who DO take such to extremes.

Yes, there is a place within us from where we can understand that so long as there was happiness within me all the thoughts, feelings and sensations used to flow just as they are flowing now through me but it was that happiness for which many thoughts, sensations and feelings got trapped in me and created all sorts of trouble, that is I was not safe everywhere. In the later stage when these experiences of bad past got awakened and agitated they totally blocked the flow of thoughts and feelings within me and became fully chaotic trying to remove happiness from me. In the final stage it is seen that when happiness gets totally removed all sorts of thoughts, sensations and feelings except the ones which have been fully solved, fully resolved, fully suffered and fully worked have started to flow through me as before but due to absence of happiness no bad thought, feeling or sensations are getting stuck in me and the mind, body and brain are automatically rejecting them thereby giving me a feeling that I am safe everywhere.

I don't think so..the guy just surrendered to the fact that Spira is not relating to where he is during a problem becasue he just keeps pointing to a an ideal, which to this guy - is still a far off goal. He agrees it is great on paper....but how does he EXPERIENCE THAT SHIFT FROM WHERE HE IS??? He has no idea HOW TO GET THERE, simply because in the midst of a problem we are in strong identification and fixed on the story. You can't go from zero to 60 ignoring emotional effects and just using mind words...you need to still the emotional content FIRST.

Understanding is the booby prize. I have to feel it in my own experience by relaxing or having some attention on the background, and it's quite subtle. A deep, spontaneous experience of the unified field can be helpful, if you're lucky enough, as you will know it strongly in your bones for yourself. But it's a 'moment to moment' lived endeavour, getting lost in your head and snapping out of it. Not sure asking yourself too many questions or even 'self enquiry' is useful, as it can just keep you in a headspace. I like to listen to Rupert, but find him a bit cerebral sometimes, and am drawn back to Eckhart who feels imho, more practical and embodied in his approach, as well as the humour. Good luck to everyone on their journey.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but many being drawn to these types of teaching are seeming to be hoping for a quick route to enlightenment,without practice. For example someone who has a regular sadhana of meditation is going to be able to recognise the truth that is being pointed to here more easily, than someone who just listens to teachings and tries to grasp it with the mind, which is not ever going to work! Rupert Spira is an excellent teacher with great clarity, but it is up to people themselves to do the practices of meditation and self-inquiry. No one can save you but yourself, or rather the recognition and then living from true self is what saves us from unnecessary suffering.

Sometimes the ego's questions can stop someone from practicing - so I think it's worth having someone that will answer some questions from the mind - or else try to guide the mind back to being. That's the point of satsangs, we think!
@catlinmorgan
@catlinmorgan 7 жыл бұрын
I agree, it is both that is required, yet Satsang cannot take the place of ones own regular practice.
@rosemoon8072

not true Catherine ... if you want to believe in teh need for practices, carry on doing them ... althugh they can be beneficial to the character in teh play, they dont change the nature of truth or revelation, which can come to ANYONE .. sometimes your cleaning lady might become enlightened when she drops the hoover on her foot, quicker than someone whose self image requires them to sit on a cushion for ten years chanting OM ...if your practices are feeding Your ego and your self image then they can be a BLOCK ... becuase your ego thinks practices are necessary to get to what you already are ... But since you already are it, then all you need is a way to open the door, to revel it, to drop teh pretences .. very often dropping the lie is all taht is required rather than seeking for teh truth ! ... Sometimes that come come through listening to a teacher like this ... sometimes it can happen while you are doing the washing up ... you glimpse your true nature as Unity or Consciousness whatever you like to call it ... Scriptures and practices are like concepts and ideas and can become like the wealth of the three wise men ... who when they met Jesus, knelt down and removed their crowns... (the symbol or worldly or earned superiority, and intellectual pride). Likewise we are taught by our culture that accumulating knowledge, spiritual or otherwise, we will be then have earned, or be more worthy of living in the light ! ...but in the end we have to drop ALL of these accumulations ... like the camel going through teheye of the needle, we will discover that is is all baggage in the end and we were never capable of moving even an inch fro our true nature ... we only found veils to throw over it so we forgot. Our beliefs are all a product of mind ... If you beleive you have to jump through spiritual 'hoops' to proove yourself worthy of your own inner truth, then that is your choice ... But very often these practices and spirutal garb can be a block rather than a facilitator of enlightenment ...something for teh ego to hang itself on or be trapped by ... since enlightenment cannot happen to the 'person / ego' anyway. I've encountered more heavy ego in so called 'spiritual ' environments than I have standing at teh bus stop with ordinary people whose minds are not all caught up with concepts or beliefs about who gets in to heaven and who did'tt work hard enough for it.. they are more easily in teh quiet mind where it all happens.

The imperturbable (peaceful) nature of awareness - like an open space; both immanent and transcendent. Be thankful for difficulty as it is a superb opportunity to practice. Turn all things into the path. When I think I am suffering, engage in self-inquiry. Who is "I"? What is the "I"? the true "I"? What are the necessary and sufficient characteristics or attributes of the true I? That which is necessary and sufficient, is extent awareness - awareness that is - existence and knowing. The true "I", extent knowing, is imperturbable like an open space. Its nature is peace. On the other hand, the "I" which is the separate self is nothing more than a construct of ideas, notions, and beliefs - personality. It is not the true I. It is merely an idea. Why suffer on behalf of a construct that would suffer under current conditions in accordance with the ideas that comprise its expected course of conduct? It is unnecessary. Just stop it. May all beings near and far, known and unknown, be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.

Questioner: " When I go through a difficult moment - it's difficult for me to start asking these questions" Spira: * asks more questions* LOL The guy is saying it is difficult to start rationalizing when we are in a heavy momentum of emotions - similar to attempt reasoning with a child in the throes of a tantrum: " start thinking about your actions mister!" or to someone in depths of despair : well you know this is best for the greater good. AND SEE THE ANGER YOU GET. That is where the human is at that moment.. and will only double down when faced with a rejection or denial of an unacceptance of what is being experienced. I was thinking Rupert was going to address that state and suggest stillness or trying to let all the emotions play out with self compassion and hold it all to let it pass and regain a neutral ground to THEN TO START INQUIRY. That's why the guy just says thanks and ends it. He is not getting any help for WHERE HE IS.

Rupert was kind of dismissive and aggressive to this poor guy and wasn’t letting him speak. I was surprised.

Is it true that as he said nothing was able to affect consciousness ?even neurodegenerative diseases like MS or Altzheimer ?
@ConsciousLife_Official

Consciousness would never be affected by the body. However, it's a good question to discover how it is we "will" our attention to witness awareness or consciousness, and how accessible this is to a person when they do experience disease of the body brain or mind. However, consciousness itself is not affected. What do you think?

My stepfather with severe dementia came one day to the kitchen very sad and i said 'what's wrong, dad?' and he said 'i don't know who I am' and I said 'well, you know that you are, right? You exist.' And he said 'yeah' and his face brightened up. "You can say 'I am' can't you?' He said 'Yeah! I am! that I do know.' and a big smile crossed his face and he seemed to be at peace. This, to me, says consciousness exists in these states. maybe they don't know memories, even mother now sees imaginary people (lewy body dementia symptom) ... but ask them what's happening now, and they are aware of it, even if it's a distorted reality mentally, they are aware and conscious.

A woman prayed God for adversity: "It is only in adversity that I remember You... " we need to hear it from Rupert Spira, but they are old truths for many mystics in the Christian tradition. We seem to need to give new forms to old truths,

I recently heard an interview with a woman near India. She was abducted as a child to work as a whore. That was the moment she lost her faith, never gained it back. It's not the same for everyone.

The empty space does nothing to achieve peace harmony, safety, wholeness; the concept “achieve” does not exist.... but this space does not have to pay rent and buy food JUST to rest in a bed and not on the ground out in the cold. Why Rupert do you NEVER talk about MONEY, even as a “concession” for those of us who can’t yet live in the peace of emptiness?

Money problems are just another form of suffering and that is what he is talking about. Money, health, relationship problems, suffering comes in many forms and shapes, but ultimately it is all just suffering.

Safe yes. Pain still exists. I cant seem to get it to stop yet. Maybe almost. I wouldnt do this to hitler, i dont understand why the universe is making me go through this, and be alone 24/7 for years on top of it. Genuinely dont get it. Maybe someday.
