NEXT VIDEO THIS SATURDAY. So... I'm back. My sincere apologies for the long absence. If you have no idea where I've been, please see my twitter: twitter.com/Ramsey_II, all updates are posted there, and there is some information surrounding my absence. Yes, I had a minor surgery, and I am returning with 100% health, but it is not the only reason. But I do really appreciate the concern and messages over the last couple months. I want to keep this comment as short as possible, and I will go into further detail about the future of this channel in another video. But, weekly videos are returning. Also, apologies that the footage in this video is a little dated. I've been working on this one (and Part 2) for a while, and after Saturday's video, future footage will be freshly squeezed. The tale here still hits so well, even to today's version of Rust. Pacing, story telling, music especially, and the lesson it teaches. I literally enjoy it every time I watch it. I love what you do Ramsey. Never doubt yourself, because no matter how long it's been or what goes on in your life, this kind of tale and connection is always possible through your works and your words. Just trust yourself that it's good, because it will be.

Built my first base ever, took it nice and slow, quite the learning process, but then one night 2 asswipes came at night when i was outside, started shooting me, but stopped when they saw i was running away, they followed me to my base and demolished everything. I was quite discouraged so never logged back on.

Imagine, having a server wipe. . That's the point of the game. Rust is a rogue sandbox game. And the rogue element means you can loose everything (though I think in game, you can't loose the blueprints your character learns in a server). Hard to believe, but that's what can make the game fun. It's not having all the items, it's about the risk, journey and skills you gain. . I might be a year late to reply, but hope this helps clear things up.

One of the things I love about Rust is the potential for friendship. You could have just shot that last guy without a second thought, but instead you spoke to him, helped him out, and probably made him appreciate the game far more than he would have if you'd just killed him for your own ends. So many people treat Rust as just a building and combat game, instead of a social game. Hopefully the scientist outpost that was implemented adds some more social interaction in a safe place.

You’re really nice even if it gets you killed. I have 10 hours in rust and I try to be as nice as possible but I’ll give someone a spear or something and they kill me with it. Update: Persevered through the hardship and kept playing. Now I'm 2k hours and have gotten a lot better since the beginning. Even though Rust is a lot different these days. I still try to be as nice as possible but these OTV players are just wilding.

I'm really shit at the game, but I keep trying to get a base established. Unfortunately, seems whenever I try, I can barely get the thatch to wood or stone before someone comes along and flamethrowers it down. The community is pretty rude most of the time, so it's good to see someone isn't a total shithead

Start off with a 1by1 and dont build too near monuments or large bases. Get enough stone to completely upgrade it and metal to get doors. Expand on and on and never leave wooden builds and uss your resource to expand dont just stash it.

I threw the point out there that trick shoting is bad because people think it's good or amazing. The style of trick shot editing is just so bad, people think that trick shoting montages are good because of the shot itself and the editing, how it looks so cool.

You don't seem like you know much either mate, Trickshoting montages don't take much effort at all. For a lot of this footage he's synced his farming up with the beat of the music and has done MANY cuts to sync it up and to keep the audience entertained. His edits are so amazing, a normal person may not even notice all of the work he put into it unless they pay attention. I've seen dozens of trickshoting montages and I've been disappointed with every kill/frag/tickshot montage i've seen because it doesn't take much effort at all to make a dozens or so cuts, Smack them together, add a transition (most don't) and slap on music.
