The more I listen to/watch Luo musicians..and reflect on their history in Kenya, I am reminded of African Americans. Luos dominate the Kenyan music scene...and a lot of their music reflect their pain and suffering in Kenya....much like the music of African Americans reflect in part their painful history in the USA...just thought I'd share...

The Zairain arts have enriched Africa, to the credit of the good people of Kenya, and Nairobi in particular who sustained the music for a long time when the business of music had become very difficult in Kinshasa, they never tried to appropriate the art of others or call Coupe De Calle
