There's something so soothing about you painting in those wall panels with a flat brush. As someone who also likes to really prepare (and sometimes overthink) larger paintings, this was really helpful, too. Gave me courage to also put my audiobook on and start on something I'd been putting off. So excited to see how those figures will come along! The color palette so far is incredibly subtle and beautiful.

Thank you Evelyne! I'm so glad it was encouraging for you. I'm also enjoying this color palette already, fingers crossed I can keep making good progress and not just sit around imagining it. 😅🌼 Cheers, you have lovely work by the way!

I'm so happy to hear that! Our ideas are a gift, so producing them kinda feels like an act of gratitude, at least to me. Keep creating! :)

I love what you said about how art and ideas that make it onto the page are more valuable to us than the ideas that just swirl in our head, makes me want to pluck out some of my ideas and finally put them into action.

Beautiful work!!! I truly enjoy watching you paint and listen to you explain your thought process. I am amazed at how focused you are at such a young age. Your dedication to your art will surely bring you great results! Keep up the good work! - I do have a question… Did you do the initial drawing with a prismacolor marker? If not, what did you use? Is it archival?
@mariasisul10 ай бұрын
Thank you Denise, I'm so glad you've been enjoying my process! I guess I've been a bit overly ambitious all of my 25 years alive 😂 It is a prismacolor marker, (the premier line is archival) With acrylic paint on top it doesn't budge. Would probably need a clear coat if you use oils on top though.

This one is going to be soo good! Love to watch your process, so precise and mathy...totally opposite to my brain...I think that's why it's fascinating to me 😊 I recently discovered if I listen to an audio book and it's really got my attention, I am working on my art for longer periods of time AND less overthinking it. So great!. Another lovely vlog, thank you 🙏🥰

Thank you Melissa! Ha that is funny, I also enjoy watching artists with a completely different approach to things, it's so interesting. Those audio books or even podcasts are life savers. There's no space in our thinking brains then to nit pick stuff. 😂😊

Really good video. I am someone that believes if there is something you do repeatedly, it is good to establish a process for yourself. I think once things are organized as a process, it allows you brain to drift and create, without concerning yourself with the process....if that makes sense. Also, why acrylics and not oils?
@mariasisul11 ай бұрын
Thank you and yes! It totally alleviates you from too much decision making and self critiquing, we need that space to create within. I use acrylics for the fast dry time, the consistency of the paint and because I don't need an mediums that are potentially toxic or have smells then. It just works well for what I do. :)

@@mariasisul Great explanation! A skilled artist can modify acrylic paint to achieve the same descriptive power as oils, as long as you work to the strengths of the medium. Jules Kirschenbaum did some incredible work in acrylics that almost look like egg tempera, and others that you'd swear are oils, they're so smooth and suave!

So I'm not the only one whose studio is freezing cold early in the morning at this time of year. While we haven't turned the heating on in the house yet, I did turn it on in the studio. One of my artist friend moved to New Zealand so in the winter she has to wear her jacket and boots on to paint in her studio as the houses there allegedly have no central heating! Can't wait to see the final result of your painting; it's already looking really nice.

Oh boy that sounds like a chilly studio, artists are real troopers! I probably should move around more while working, I think that would help. And thank you! I'm excited to make some more progress on it :)
