Nice video! I have got Akira psychoball in PAL version, so it is not exclusive to japan. Compilation shienryu double shooting is also available in Pal version named "steel dragon ex". you have awesome shmup collection!!

Thanks! Didn't the PAL market get Dragon Blaze too? They made out much better than the US as far as shooters goes.

yes, I have got Dragon blaze in Pal version but alone version, not in a bundle with Sol divide. We have Sol divide too, but alone.

My Japanese slim arrived on Sunday. Right now I just have Gundam Climax UC but Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles and Macross are on the way.

I have to rely on the memory card boot trick to play imports, which requires ripping and patching each game, so I've only grabbed a few titles. The photoboy game sounds great, and it seems a few sellers have them for about $18 with free shipping. I'd look more into the shooters, but I'm already sure they are priced out of my range. Oh, and if you're wanting to try Front Mission 5, a fan translation of it was released a bit back, along with a translation of Front Mission 2. I have a working copy of FM5 and got to spend a bit of time with it. Not enough to know whether it is more like 3 rather than 4, but it's still nice to finally understand the story.

TGApuleius Good tip on FM5, I will have to check that out. If you grab Photoboy, be sure to grab the import PS1 direct port of the PC Engine game. It's equally cheap and is endlessly entertaining. I have friends that love to come over and play it.

Read my mind! I grabbed the PS1 version yesterday, after spotting it under the PS2 version in the International Seller section. I remembered you saying you preferred the first, so I grabbed it instead. I also picked up two of the Taito collections, someone was selling a bundle of what I believe are the first two.

Awesome collection. Checkout Garouden Fist or twist, hakuto no ken Twist and Die hard arcade sega ages. Especially Garouden is good.

really nice collection of Ps2 imports. Been wanting to get those taito memory games didnt know there were 4 games released in japan. Im going to have to get ADK and some of the other ones were on my radar. Those sega ages games are really cool I thought the panzer dragoon one was well made.

The Haunted Castle game, part of the Oretachi Geasen series, isn't a port, it's emulation. Basically rom and emulator with front end shell (there's a lot of games in this series, all pretty expensive nowadays, all released by Hamster). I'm lucky to own it as a friend gave it to me to boost my PS2 import collection.

Hey is there a list showing every Japanese exclusive ps2 games because I wanna trying collecting every release but it’s hard to even find a definitive list of just Japanese exclusive games ;-; (also does Japan have the USA equivalent of greatest hits because that’s something I’d try to avoid)

I haven't seen an official list but it would be massive. Most game publishers in Japan are able to create their own line of best seller reissues, and there are a ton of them, for example Taito Best series. This would be a nightmare to complete IMO.

Did you start studying Japanese just to play all your NTSC J PS2 import games?

I studied Japanese a little before this era but most of these are action and arcade games that don't require much knowledge to enjoy.

@@Bubblun1 There are very few Japanese PS2 games that do not require knowledge of Japanese to play. The only one I can think of is the PS2 Gundam game G-Saviour. The voice acting is in English with Japanese subtitles. I have an unmodified US PS2 console. I am thinking of getting a Japanese PS2 console and importing some Japanese PS2 games to my country but I want to buy games that have some English. I do not knownif there are any NTSC J PS2 and PS1 games released in other Asian markets like Hong Kong or Singapore that have an English Language option.
