If you are down to do more emulator testing with this computer it would be cool if you also tested out some PS2 emulation which this computer could probably do, and some PS3 emulation which I feel could be the most interesting. Also it would be cool if you did tests with Ryujinx, which in my opinion is shaping up to be a better emulator than Yuzu at least on high end computers. I would like to see how Ryujinx runs on low end computers.

I'm about to test emulation with the Onn Android TV Streaming Device from Wal-Mart. I'm importing the games to Retroarch via USB OTG as I write this. Steam Link works great with it as I already tested it the past couple days...

It is faster if you go into cpu config and select unsafe... Older CPUs lack an instruction set but they fixed it now with this hack

The GT 610 performs quite poorly at gaming and I recommend staying away from it as most iGPUs in the market are far better. For $60 depending on where you live could be either a good or bad deal, but this entirely comes down to your usage of the parts. It might be better going for a 2nd gen i5 or i7 or the Xeon equivalent and saving up for something like the 750 ti or the gpu mentioned in the video

I have an optiplex 960 I'm looking to run emulators on. At least Dreamcast 100% or at least close to it. If it runs anything else that's a plus but Dreamcast minimum. Has 6gb of ddr2 ram Core 2 Duo processor I was looking to maybe add Gt 1030 Small ssd for windows and emulators Is there anything else I need to upgrade? I've been looking around and was going to upgrade the RAM but I saw somewhere that 4gb is apparently sufficient so I thought 6gb should be fine. Wasn't sure about processor though. Any thoughts?

Hey I’m having an issues with my dell optiplex 3020 i5 4590, I have a gtx 570 4gb, 8gm ram 500gb HD and 500w thermal take. The issue is that when I uncap my FPS and low settings for fortnite it would later freeze the entire computer and i would have to force restart it. It would happen randomly too even if it’s capped, can you give me any solutions? Lmk if you need more info if you can help?

i have a similar pc to that one, and I'm trying to run legends arceus on it, it works fine at a stable 30-40 fps, but apparently my graphics drivers are outdated, which they are not, so I can't play the game with any images or video. basically i can play it but there's nothing but a black screen and audio

I have a somewhat similar build with that I think you can run ps2 and dreamcast pretty well too, also regarding gamecube the only game that struggled was F-Zero GX so if anyone reads this you might want to take note about dat. I have yet to try the OG xbox Another thing I recommend to squeeze more performance is to always use vulkan if opengl is the other option available and if your plan is to just use emulation to use an OS like Batocera, Lakka or Recalbox instead of windows if you must use it always 10

Hi Matt. Pre 4th gen intel CPUs lack AVX2.. this slows down Yuzu. You can fix it by going to config -> cpu -> accuracy unsafe -> click all those. FMA is related to AVX2 instruction set. That should boost it! Would be interested in PS3 and 360.. I think they'll have similar issues. But let me know if the above fixes pokemon sword :)

Its worth going with a better cpu for emulation - the i7-3770 (or xeon equivalent) with 8 threads would be a better choice for that build and worth the extra $

Graphics cards are weird as fuck nowadays.. I tried selling an rx 460 OC model for $60 on offerup and got NO offers. I hit up ebay and sell it for $135 within an hour of posting. Technology pricing needs to go back to normal.

BTW i recommend using one of these 2nd gen Xeon CPU's with Hyperthreading, it's only about 10-15 dollars more expensive and 8 threads is life changing the moment you switch. Just my two cents as someone who has gone through a lot of old systems working in IT. BTW I have a system on my channel that's only $50 more expensive and runs circles around this PC that shows you some more options in this price range.

@Link The drivers exist, yes. But if a new game requires new drivers it won't be available. The only updates Nvidia provides are security updates for those GPUs.

Original Xbox emulation is not very well optimized right now, so I wouldn't count on it

Like reigen said, Xbox isn't optimized. So unfortunately it's not going to be a smooth performance. If they could optimize it it would probably run similar to PS2 because it's not really that powerful. Unfortunately because original Xbox isn't popular a lot of people aren't working on it.

Yuzu is pretty sweet. Less powerful PCs are emulating it because.its keeps getting optimized. In a few years it will be similar to dolphin.

I have done research on systems around this good. Far cry 3 and lower can be played like 40 fps on 1080p low. It's pretty good performance.

This is not powerful enough for PS3. You're going to need at least a 6 core CPU and like a gtx 960 to get even descent performance.

A lot of PS2 will play great and upscaled to at least 720p. Xbox is a no go. Nothing will play st 360 Even the original Xbox doesn't run well because it's not optimized. PSP works great. The hardest games even at 2x resolution. Most games 5x resolution and even some easy games at 8x res.
