Didn’t expect this! Mightily impressed with this, the Weefun Tina2 Pro. As in the video, this would make a great gift for someone as the ongoing costs are small.

That's a pretty cool little machine. Might be a good gift for my nephews. Silk filiment is fussy because it's modified with an elastomer which is chemically similar to those flexible materials. Generally that makes it a fair bit harder to stick the stuff down and it is a lot less mechanically strong. I'm a mechanical engineer at a polymer extrusion company. I've been building custom 3d printers for a couple years now. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you or anyone else has about the technology.

I believe Weefun has upgraded the Tina2 Pro to the newer Tina 2s which looks like it is the same as the pro but has a heated PEI printing plate which no longer requires the masking tape. Also the Tina 2s can easily print using the PLA Silk filament using the standard settings especially with the heated plate.

I absolutely LOVE my Tina2. The only problem is using it with Cura. My cutter walls keep printing as infill. Downloaded Arachne Engine but there isn’t a printer profile for Weedo/Weefun Tina 2. If you could do a video on adding the Tina 2 as a custom FFF printer would be awesome

what height for z-offset would you recommend? all my filament does is get all stringy and matted up
@CTAtechdesk Жыл бұрын
Hi there, I have it set to 55 / 55 / 100 but this may not be the best depending on your filament. Start close then print and then if it sticks to the mat but gets tangled, move it up and try again. If it gets pulled off the mat it needs to be closer. Its trial and error
@enavigatorE Жыл бұрын
Filament is not loading. Purging gives the sound but the filament not moving. Going to return this.

I had this issue. I changed filament and made sure that it was able to rotate to feed and all was well. If there is any sort of friction it will struggle to move through.

The silk filament is a bit fussy. It should work with yours, might need to play with settings as you get experience. That’s not a bad little printer. Bought the spouse one for Christmas, might just get myself one now.

Hi! I just got one of these, and could really use some advise. I've downloaded the app, but it requires a verification code. Where did you get the code from, because I cannot find it anywhere. Next, all of their website details seem to be down, I cannot download the Wiibuilder or anything. Do you have any idea if maybe I am using the wrong download link, and do you have the real one?

I don’t use the app. I download all my files to the sd card that came with it. Then print from that. I found it the easiest way.

Pretty sure everyone who ever 3D printed has that cat. No benchy boat? And the "mesh base" is called a raft, and you should be able to remove that in the slicer. You shouldn't need a raft for that stuff you're printing.
@CTAtechdesk2 жыл бұрын
Like I said in the video. First printer, everything is an experience. Wanted to show that even people with no experience can do it without getting put off by jargon
@pjaypender10092 жыл бұрын
@@CTAtechdesk Raft is the correct term for that part of the print. That is what the slicer program will list it as. "Jargon" may seem off-putting, but how are you going to advance with something if you don't know the correct names for things? Rafts and brims are how you help items that don't like to stick to the plate stick better. Those items should stick fine without a raft, even with an unheated bed.

I'd say to just get an ender 3.
@pjaypender10092 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of good reasons to choose this, not the least of which is price. This is often on sale at Amazon for as little as $120 and I got mine for $105. Ender 3 is also open, which isn't the best if you have curious toddlers. There is something to be said for enclosures.
@jgon122 жыл бұрын
Yes but it's mostly for kids 10+ and safer for them also they won't be printing huge stuff or using several materials and lastly tweaking the big machines and slicer settings could be hard for someone who has no knowledge
