That the Civil Guard did not accept the collaboration of the English police is because they could not contribute anything. From the beginning they had the hypothesis that Jay Slater must have suffered an accident, the problem is that finding him in that rugged territory is the same as finding a needle in a haystack. My congratulations to the Civil Guard, and my deepest condolences to the family and friends. May he rest in peace (R.I.P).

I'm sorry but no matter how mashed you are I don't know a single human being travelling from the club & where your friends are and the place your staying at is 50 mins away to go to sleep for a couple hours and then think you can walk the 50 minute CAR journey back, after knowing a bus is coming soon and being offered a lift.. it just doesn't happen.. how are people just buying this story?? I've never known a single person that would think for a SECOND they can walk a 50 minute car journey.. let alone in a foreign country on your last day of the holiday... there is something seriously off with all this and I fear that just because his body was found we will never know the actual truth of what happened to that young lad! Yea as a hiker I would choose to walk more than 50 min car ride if the transportation wasn't gonna come soon. One thing people are not considering is "what if he thought the bus is coming in10hrs when the lady showed him 10 finger"??? Putting myself in his shoes, If I thought she meant 10hrs (instead of 10am) & the walk would take me 11hrs, I would definitely have started walking. However what is Strange is why he didn't go back to the other guys' accommodation to charge his phone? Also, if there was a Caffè why not buy a bottle of water??? Why didn't his friends help him get back, and why leave and not get or wait for a lift from or refuse one as apparently was said, from the beginning the police were making mistakes, refused help from British police. If you see the searchers in that terrain, they appear like tiny ants. How can anyone question why it took so long? I don't think it took long at all, because many are never found. Jay was found, and now his parents can put him to rest. I wish there was more news about appreciation towards the searchers and all the resources provided in finding Jay. I think many volunteers and locals offered their expertise and efforts into this search. I have been to the island to visit my family and roots, and the locals don't go wondering in there without a guide, and those that do are hiker and rock climbing enthusiasts and professionals. Jay made a terrible decision to go in that terrain. He was possibly high, tired, dehydrated, and made poor choices. If there was foul play, I hope those responsible are brought to justice, but sometimes it is what is obvious....Jay fell to his death trying to find a shortcut back to the beach.

I could not agree more. It's depressing that every single piece of news seems to have some sort of conspiracy theory attached to it.
