I've always liked Misa, like yeah she's annoying but there's something about her that I can relate to. This song puts everything she does into perspective, and I keep remembering the one line from when she first met Light: "I promise I'll try to make you love me." That line was one of the saddest lines in the show, and this song almost explains why she does everything

I remember when I was a kid I felt like I was the only one in the world who actually felt sympathy for Misa. Sure, she's a little nutty and sometimes a lot annoying...but dammit I liked her! Glad to see she's getting more love, or at the very least more sympathy, from the fandom in these comments.

I like the Misa in the musical a lot more than in the show to be honest. Here, she is a lot less gullible, and there is more emphasis on her sincerity and genuine nature. They gave her a more effective role to be honest.

I will always hate Misa but this song really shows her perspective. I love the fact that Light is an allegory for God and this is a love song for Light but you can analyze it in an overall context as a song meant for finding God and in it, themselves. Also it is a beautiful melody sung by a beautiful voice!!

I've always loved Misa as a character, but I don't think this voice (as beautiful as it is) suits her. I'd imagine a higher, softer pitch. --- She was deeply inlove with the man who she believed saved her, respected and admired him with the highest of regards a person could and clutched on to the hopes that one day he may love her too. As clingy, delusional and irrational as she was her intentions and loyalty to Light couldn't be faulted. He used that knowledge to his advantage, despised and hated everything about her, strung her along and played her as just another pawn. He feared what she could do if he made what he truly thought of her clear ...and to some degree I'm sure Misa was aware of this, but still continued to do as she was asked because of how deep her love for him ran. It's a tragedy really.

I've been saying forever that if they switched the voices for Rem and Misa in this album, it would nearly be a perfect voice cast! And I realize this comment is old so I'm not sure if you've been able to see the musical, but from what I've seen they've maintained it one-sided and he DEFINITELY is only using her still. This song is pretty sad if you see it as a traumatized girl singing to her abuser. I say abuser because Light is straight up manipulating and taking advantage of her. I acknowledge they both are pretty messed up. But Light is on another level. Who knows what he would have done to get rid of Misa once he no longer needed her. 😭
