Good to see that you’re getting great results from LEDs. I’ve been using LED since like 2018 when I bought a Sony A73. Found out I can shoot with high ISO of 3200 before noise starts being a problem. Since then, all my client shoots are lit with LEDs. But too bright and they start to squint so there’s a balance to how bright and how close the lights should be. I’m still use strobes on outdoor shoots but LEDs for all indoor portraits, food, products.

I’ve found that edge lit LEDS work great as a main light and they don’t cause you to squint but that’s not a bad thing either as Peter Hurley and the squinch would like it.

Can you do a deep dive on the 500 key light you used? Is it travel friendly? Overheating issues if ran strait for an hour session maybe? So far 200 ISO at 5.6 sounds like I am going to have to buy this
@boslabs
@boslabs 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve personally run the 500 for a few hours on some on location shoots and had no issues with it. if you turn off the fan you can only run them at like 50% power though. I can’t say how they travel for flights and things like that but the 500comes in a nice carrying case that is easy to transport from our studio to our locations for shooting. we will keep in mind about maybe doing a deep dive on the light. thank you for watching!

Can you do one Studio Portraits/ Headshots using only your head light and Main light (2 lights only)
@boslabs
@boslabs 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! The 3rd light was only hitting the background. The background might get a little darker but you can also move closer to it to light it up with the other 2 lights.

Hey, thanks for the comment! Those are V-flat world's V-flats. They are foldable. In the photo I had two of them next to each other to create like a half box behind. Hope this helps. vflatworld.com/ -Chuy

@@boslabs Thank you SO much! These were exactly what I was looking for. I've been shopping on Amazon for these questionably made room dividers because I couldn't figure out what these were! I really appreciate you man.
@boslabs
@boslabs 3 жыл бұрын
@@BHalleyPhotos sure thing. If you don’t need them to fold down small there’s other options too. While definitely great to use and convenient these can be a little pricy and sometimes people want taller vflats. There’s plenty of info on the web for making you’re own too. Plenty of my friends make their own when they need 8ft + ones. Happy shooting.

LED's have come a long way and will one day be the light to use. Still appreciate the T1 values of strobes to completely freeze action.

Thanks for sharing this. I just started with constant light this year, and I've been struggling. In your setting, the hair light is also a Forza 500 set at 25%. Can it be replaced by Forza 60 at 100%? I know 25% of 500 is more than 100, but I'm trying to understand how much I need for a hair or rim light in order to get an appropriate second light. Appreciated!
@boslabs
@boslabs 3 жыл бұрын
A forza 60 should definitely be enough to get a proper hair light. The only thing I see happening is maybe not getting as much fill off the v flat bouncing from the hair light to the subject. So you might get a moodier vibe.
@zhenyucai
