What if the equation already states it has a class width? For example the class width is 6 so what then? Do I still need to find my range?? Do you continue to do the same thing? Also how many classes am I going to need? This is the part where I always get comfused on. Frequency charts are soo confusing.

i also tried to do this particular problem on my own, and i noticed that the frequency of the 91-95 should only be 8 and the 96-100 should be 14. I checked multiple times if my answer is wrong, but i think it is right. I watched you again tallying the numbers and I think you forgot to include the 96 and 96 in the lower left, and included it in the limit of 91-95. I don't mean any negative intention, I just want to state it

Thanks a lot I am a distance learning student with heavy workload and fighting hard to balance studies with work and family matters. Thank you so much for putting things in such a simple way, I'm confused over one thing (please don't mind if it's a stupid question) Why do you combine the Tally bars in groups of 4? And You wrote 12 in frequency column with the corresponding counting of 8 in Tally and similarly you mentioned 10 in frequency column where Tally was showing 8. Please explain. Regards.

You have taken class width as 5 but in tabulation the difference is coming out to be 4 and hence the frequencies are different i dont know maybe incorrect

Class 86-90 has Frequency equals 5, not 6. Also, Ma'am what's the importance of this process? Is there any other process which is easier than it?

The class width is found by dividing the range of the data by the number of classes. Your problem will typically give you the number of classes, however if it doesn’t, you are looking for a number of classes between 5 and 15. I usually find 7-9 classes about right with the data sets I have worked with. I want to graph a histogram of the data and see the shape. Too few classes gets the data too clumped together, too many and it’s too spread out to see shape. Sometimes there is some trial and error.
