GREAT vid! I'm new to the CBG hobby and am currently making CB ukuleles for my nieces, nephews, and grandkids, and I want to get away from buying necks. Your method will help me tremendously.

Thanks for your great videos, Moses. The fun thing about CBG building is that everyone has their ways of doing things and they all seem to work. I love learning new techniques from the master builders like yourself. Thanks for sharing your skills!

I've been watching these guitar builds by several makers and your methods are more appealing to me. Great work buddy 👍

Hello, and thanks for the video. I am getting many videos from 3 years ago in my suggested videos from KZbin, and this is the latest I'm watching. Unfortunately, the link in the description for buying a Burrell CBG is no longer good. After selecting the link, it brings you to a page that says the domain may be for sale.

Hey Moses great video. Just another version of your neck…..if you leave the head stock at 6 inches, cut out your notch, THEN-cut down to 4 inches you can put a 45 degree angle on the cut out and slide it a 1/2 inch or so down the neck and when the glue is dry you can even up the headboard and carve a volute on the back of the neck. It looks fancy! Great job on the video.

Thanks for the video. I've built two CBGs so far, and you tutorial answered several questions. I am going to use the half-lap approach on the next guitar. I hope you make more videos. Your presentation was clear and detailed, and that lets me apply what you taught.

Thank you. I really appreciate that you are on point, & you explain all techniques very well. My crafting these instruments are still a work in progress. Looking forward to more from you, Mr Burrell.

Thanks for the video. I’ve used half slaps and lately mostly scarf joints. Think I’ll try your full lap technique. I like the way it looks and to be honest I find scarfs to be a bit of a pain. Especially for a hack like me! Looking forward to learning more on how you build necks.

Thanks for watching. Perhaps I will revisit scarf joints at some point, but the lap joint is my lean approach for now. Best of success on your attempt at it!

I've been wanting to build a cigar box for a LONG time. over the past year, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer , did 12 rounds of chemo. Now, I decided, is the time to build one. I was wondering about neck length, and your video popped up. I'm NOT asking for anything. you've given me what I need, thanks. i have some seasoned honey locust wood that I am going to use for the neck. what pickups are better? God bless

when does any of you builders make a video with all the messurements in the metric system. im living in holland /europe . there is nothing to find on yt of al the mesurements in centimeters or milimeters. please help me out.
@BurrellGuitars2 жыл бұрын
Good point. Perhaps try asking some of the other KZbin builders to put the metric measurements on the screen as they state the measurements.
@tonysalter39622 жыл бұрын
There are scale length calculators on line and downloadable templates. I just copy the scale of my guitar onto paper and transfer it but be careful to avoid parallax errors
@mulekickhandmadeguitars8465 Жыл бұрын
If you need metric measurements, check out another master builder named Chickenbone John who lives in the UK. He has many great easy-to-understand KZbin build videos covering every aspect of CBG building and ALL his measurements are metric. I think you'll like him.
