ooh looking nice im a uk modeler my self and live in uk so ive always used the traditional uk way of creating frames and stufing heavy slabs of sheet material on the tops this makes for waste wood so from now on i think i will be using your option or the usa option as i like to call it :) of open frame work and boards only where the track will go :) im going to create some frames still but leave them open planned with stringers across etc so that i have less wood to buy for tops :D looking good

ah yeah that would be a great help because of been in uk and using uk servers for my internet i dont get as many usa results as i would like to so any links to this type of construction would be much appriciated

I'm glad I can help. If you need further explanation of the system I can help or look up T girder or L girder benchwork on the net. I used this system since i was a young teen.

The "old" layout is still in operation. It's at my Dad's house. I always made trips down to work on it with him. It is a joint effort. Unfortunately that drive down is 2hrs away... the walk into my basement is 10secs away. I hope you can see the advantage for me. :)
