Construction of the Marienturm in Frankfurt with Master X-Seed and MasterEase

The Marienturm is 155 metres tall and has 38 storeys. The special challenge was to complete each floor within six days because of the building design and the tight time schedule. The construction management needed concrete that could be walked on and achieved very early strength under the weather conditions.
Various concrete formulations were therefore available for use; the only difference between them was the dosage of Master X-Seed. Master X-Seed was one of the major developments of the past few years. It is a highly innovative product with a unique and characteristic effect. Master Builders Solutions has identified various possible applications for pre-mixed concrete and developed these applications together with their customers, in this case, Hochtief and Sehring. Master X-Seed allows considerably faster construction progress with pre-mixed concrete. In addition to early strength development, there were a number of other requirements.
For example, the concrete needed to be pumped to a height of 150 m. For this reason, Master Builders Solutions used the MasterEase product group, which reduces the viscosity of the concrete, improves its workability and allows it to be pumped to this height.
