Filter needs to be replaced more often because it’s actually cleaning the air… why would you not have to replace a filter for 5 years…unless it’s not actually cleaning the air efficiently. I’d look into CADR. Even if the filter is less efficient through a single pass, the unit is moving more air through it - so over time the air quality could be significantly better than that of another unit with a true HEPA filter. I’d recommend doing actual tests or looking at something more substantial than marketing material

I recommend the Winix over the Coway because it has a better gas filter and it's usually cheaper.
