@@semihyolcu6572 I didn’t have any problems with mine but I took them back today and exchanged them for the Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset. I can use it wirelessly on the Xbox Series X and my PC!

I was waiting 35 minutes to him to say "Krakens sound tinny" like the ear cups were housed in tin cans with a wider sense of space. Barracudas sound like what you expect for a good headphone. Blacksharks add warmth and are just a better version of the Barracudas. Kairas sound like Krakens- the room is smaller and the cups sound less tinny. I used to laugh at all the youtubers that had 6 or 7 headsets... then I bought way too many headsets. When people come over and I don't like them, they get my Krakens then Kairas. They are good for first person shooters because they help orient you people running around you. But listening to music or watching a movie... No that is not what they are used for. One Barracuda is dedicated to my work from home station because it looks professional enough. The other barracuda is what I bring around town when I listen to music and use my phone (2 cudas, different ear pads). I don't share my Blacksharks- it's my daily driver. I gave one to my mom because she deserves it. When it comes to haptics, the cheaper corsair HS60 was cheaper, comparable comfort but a lot more fragile. I loved it till it dropped 3 feet and shattered when it hit the laminate floor lol. When he mentioned the Arctis 9x I'm glad that he included them in this video. I definitely like my 9x, but the BS v2 pro is still my daily driver

I think the point of the Barracuda non-Xs is the user definitely has a separate microphone at this price point. If you are on a budget then the mic on the Barracuda X is a must-have, but in a $159 range, you must have a pretty slick setup (a separate microphone) if you can afford this kind of headphones.

Ya. I just bought a Barracuda non-x for myself and my brother for Christmas. I have an actual quality mic I used on a podcast a few years ago and my bro got a decent one from a friend recently. If he wants better mic quality he can just switch to the dedicated mic.

Even tho the non X are a bit more comfy on the top part, and prob a bit more durable, but they are also heavier The sound quality is also a bit better but I mean for a difference of, right now, almost the double I don’t think it’s worth to buy the non X over the X

the Kraken X is a solid starter headset and the fact its super light weight u can wear it for legit 10 plus hours ( covid certified)

Razer are ALL garbage. The sound direction is messed up on almost every game. Stick with Sennheiser if you want GOOD headset noise direction and great sound.

There is a Blackshark Hyperspeed now that seemingly has all the same tech specs as the 2023 V2 Pro. Only difference i could see was a removable mic, on board profiles of some sort and slightly different materials for a massive $70 less.

i really enjoyed this video this made me make a decsion on which headset to get Barracuda X. and i agreed with you for the top 3 actually. but decided on the X since you said it's most comfortable and lightweight. That's what I look for hte most with headsets because i go 4-6 hours of gaming often and need to be comfortable. and is a good all-around with sound quality. i'm not a huge fan of bass so that's perfect for me. And o often use headphones while listening to music on my pc while gaming and it comes in pink which i love. and Detachable mic which i also like LOL. So that's the one I'm going for. 40-60 hours of life sounds good to me. don't need haptics. The mic sounds great to me so overall I'm going for that. Thanks for doing this video helped me a lot.

The only headset I’ve ever liked, has been the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2, because you can actually turn the surround sound off. No hearing footsteps in one part of my ear, makes me sick. I’ve bought so many over the years on eBay, and I’m scared eventually they’ll all be gone lol. Do any of the new ones allow you to this ? I feel like I’m owing my mind lol

Yo! Sound designer here. Love the video, super helpful. If you plan on doing other videos like this, I’d recommend your mic check add plosives to the test (hard Ps Ss Ts and Ks). Those sounds tend to pierce through lower quality mics and are my line to determine good vs bad mics. I’d also recommend gain matching your mics before testing (just passing the yellow bar at loudest) for consistency and to avoid clipping. I hope to see more of your videos soon! Definitely using this to determine my next gaming headset. Thank you

A very important thing that you didn't mention with the Baracuda X is that they aren't supported by Synapse and 2023 Model isn't supported by razer audio either So if you by them because you want to control everytging via one software, to bad. Also the 2023 apparently have a lot of technical issues

I know this video is closer to a year old than it is current... but, I struggle to understand why Razer isn't tapping into two popular markets right now. They're not making a high end wired headset with open back to compete with offerings from Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AudioTechnica or Corsair's Virtuoso Pro. This seems to the direction that a lot of people are going these days. I'm also surprised that Razer hasn't released a direct competitor to the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless.

Also I just wanna let everyone know, the only razer products I ever bought was the 2 limited time pewdiepie headsets they had. The pewdiepie kraken and the pewdiepie Nari ultimate. Thankfully the kraken v3 set of his still holds up to this day. The microphone is crap for some reason but it is sturdy and I still love it. As for the nari ultimate, I am heartbroken. I loved everything about that headset. But the fault in lies with razer as a company. They for 1 had gotten rid of the promotional headsets after only a year or 2 of my buying them. I know this because the USB connector on them broke. Now you would think they could just send me a replacement USB connector. And you'd be fucking wrong. The only thing they could offer me was a replacement of their NORMAL, non promotional, Nari ultimate headset. I hate how it looks now, and I'm extremely salty about the whole damn situation. Not only that but when I got the new headset I was having connection issues with the USB connector on that headset aswell. I'm very disappointed in razer as a company as a whole. HOWEVER, THE ONLY THING I CAN PRAISE THEM FOR IS THE METAL BUILD ON THE KRAKEN SETS. The metal frame really held up the durability end of the headsets. Now the material on the top is shot and the pewdiepie design is peeling off it. However they are still special to me and they are always my go to when I need a good headset. The leather ear cuffs suck btw. The leather cuffs don't hold up and the leather speckles off on ur face and hair over time.

The one problem I have with my Blackshark is the rails that allow the ear cups to slide for adjustment become very loose over time, this makes the cups slide to the maximum length possible causing an uncomfortable fit.

I find that the Krakens and Kairas give you a certain sense of 'space' if you are running around and you want to hear footsteps go Kraken. if you want a good sense of directional attacks in vehicles, Kaira. If you want an MMO or movies BS, if you don't have the budget to go BS, get the Cuda, at least you can use them for work as well :)

My headband on a set of razer kraken headsets snapped in 2 when I accidentally sat on them. I ended up getting sennheiser gsp 500s and the sound quality was leagues better than the razer for about the same price I paid, especially for music. For gaming I'm more into sim racing than shooters and the engine noise was on a whole new level on the sennheisers. That said, I can't really vouch for their first person shooter performance because it's really not my thing.With them going for under $70 atm, it's hard to justify getting something else budget right now when they're superior in every way to the kraken other than you kind of look like a knob wearing them. 😝

I got the razer power up bundle a few years ago when I first started to get into computers it comes with a sort of in-between spec of the of the kraken v3x and the kraken v3 it has the full leather cups but the same drivers as the v3x it also has no rgb honestly not a bad deal when you consider I got it for about $80 and it also had a keyboard and a decent mouse the only thing I haven't upgraded over the years is the headset hence why I'm watching this video
