A vital consideration in our dance with one another, albeit literal, metaphorical, or otherwise is our environment.
A vital consideration in the health of our environment, and perhaps one too rarely mentioned, is how it inspires play.
Can you think of environments in your existence that inspire play?
If so, can you determine the factors of that inspiration?
For the environment witnessed in this video frame, the most forefront play informing factors are the dance partners and the music that guides them, and even the peripheral influence of locally crafted, high-vibe foods and beverages, but there are also less quantifiable, underlying factors that inform our play in this environment.
One factor being our connection to nature. Since nature is wild and free, and if our environment is mostly nature, it only makes sense that our connection to it enhances our wildness and freeness in connection to play in that enivironment since we are essentially nature. Being in the sunshine with our bare feet touching the earth, breathing ocean misted air, and eating food grown right down the road and crafted with care by members of our community all connects us to the same energetic source that's providing life force energy to all the life all around us.
This particular environment also provides a freeness of exchanges, because at this particular time, in the spring of 2022, this weekly Sunday afternoon drum circle gathering in the Puna region on the isle of Hawai'i served as perhaps the only truly free market in the so called land of the free (United States of America). This is a big deal since all exchanges of goods and services in the USA come with the coercion of taxation, which is a forced payment which can be viewed as robbery, which can be viewed as violence. Not having this violence involved in our connection with one another makes this place all the more suitable for play, making even the exchanges themselves more playful in that there's no force to use one particular medium of exchange (like the dollar) or prohibit any others (like stuff the government considers illegal). For example you could pay cash to a vendor in exchange for a tasty meal, crypto to a massage therapist person working out the tightness in your neck, or pay the dude selling DMT with freshly picked mangoes, as long as both parties are in agreement, that's a free, fair, open exchange.
Being in nature and in free exchange with one another puts humans in our most natural of states. This sets the stage for how simple and fulfilling our human existence together can be through the phenomenon known as spontaneous order. This weekly drum circle event serves as shining example of this order of spontaneity, in that its existed for decades without anyone organizing it, no government sanctioning it, no corporate sponsorship, yet it draws hundreds of individuals each week to play within the collective in the ways our soul's desire.
It's nice to think this is model for paradise and this video shows a little glimpse of what that could look like.
