Seeing all the comments bashing container homes is laughable. A container is made to last at sea in the most arduous of conditions for 20 years, rain, snow, sleet, slamming together, swaying under extreme elements. Now translate that to land where there's is an occasional hurricane or earthquake u are easily looking at 60 years the least. Ppl are building mansions out of these things time fi ppl expand dem mind

The fact that people have questions about it's durability + it's more expensive means it's just not viable in Jamaica. It's cost effective in the U.S because labour cost are high and this is probably less labour intensive to build hence why it's cheaper which isn't the case in Jamaica. You can build a 2 bed 2 bath 1000 square feet home for $8jmd which is less than what these containers cost.

I love watching container programs homes from the USA to other parts of the world to get a different ideas. You have to make sure they are rust proof due to humidity so getting a brand new container is best, there a containers used for extreme cold weather and very hot weathers. They are making container homes in Africa some of the designs are fantastic. Like any home make sure make there is very good insulation and good ventilation. So if you want to make your own home, look out for brand new containers for sale and research which size you want, also how much heat it can cope with. Then get an architect to draw up a plan. KZbin has loads of ideas.

I think for recycled material that could be a hazard to communities if not used , the prices are ridiculously outrageous. They could use these to help people who need help. Why take money to buy a container to live in if I can build concrete . It it is not continuously maintained it will rust ...and depend on if the land near sea. Sell them a littlecheaper

It’s ironic because I contacted them last year and no one got back to me I emailed, called and even send my architectural drawings and it fell on deaf ears. I had to move on after waiting so long. I was disappointed as needed to act asap. But that’s life, I had to look at it as it wasn’t to be.

You need yòur own land and the basic 300 n odd sft is 4.1 while the 2 br 400 n odd sqf is 8.5m. It was all stated in d video.
