21:10 are they asking about CDK or SDK? CDK is great for provisioning AWS infrastructure using real programming language code such as Java. Using CDK is great to avoid complex CloudFormation verbose files A good use case I See is defining the main compute infrastructure with EKSCTL YAML files, CDK for extra infrastructure such as RDS, Elasticache, S3, etc. Finally use Spinnaker to orchestrate the software delivery in a CI/CD pipeline.

they were asking to compare eksctl to CDK or CDK8s. :-)

This is a very great talk and easy to follow. Can you please show us each step in a manual way for better understanding?. I know the yaml is easy to create the resources. But, if we use yaml we don't know what are the resources being created behind the scenes. This will help us a lot more for better understanding and troubleshooting.

Great workshop tutorial. Any thoughts on the below error when creating eks cluster? Error: checking AWS STS access - cannot get role ARN for current session: MissingEndpoint: 'Endpoint' configuration is required for this service

Do you have any non substituted variable in your eksworkshop.yaml? There shouldn't be any ${MASTER_ARN}, ${AZS[0]} or ${AWS_REGION}; they all must be substituted with proper values such as "us-east-2" for ${AWS_REGION}... Just pasting the "cat..." command to the terminal works fine if you have already exported those variables in the previous steps of the workshop.

... how do we do this without K9, aka running eksctl locally on a laptop, interfacing via aws tooling. I see problem with the IAM role association, as we don't have a K9 instance to associate it with? G

32:06 - I generate the token, load the dashboard sign-in page in Cloud9 preview, click the pop-out button, and it opens a browser that says 'Oops VFS connection does not exist". Where is it broken?

I've disabled browser pop-up blocker, closed and reopened the browser, and even changed browser, still the same error.

It worked --- I had to reopen the Cloud9 IDE and relaunch the browser from there instead of reopening the dashboard's URL directly.
