So good to finally find this video with proper credits :p Please credit Kshitij Saxena on Flute too. Thanks I am the music producer of the song and it's really unfortunate that this video is uploaded on Alif's channel without giving credits to any of the artists who made this song what it is. So I was happy atleast someone did a right thing here. It will be wonderful if you can write to Alif about it too. Thanks

Nice vocals.... Interesting to see that its a song for the disappeared Kashmiris Muslims (allegedly by our army) sung by a primarily 'Hindu' band. Yet not a a note was ever sung for the Kashmiri pandits who were killed and slaughtered by their own neighbors and friends and forced to stay in tents for 2 generations..our culture destroyed and our roots severed.. This is what we get for being Indians and this is what you get for saying you are not.

@Musa: Though its going to be another useless to and fro, I still do want to state my views. For the records, my views are self experienced; I am from the generation which had to flee Kashmir when Islamic militancy took over. At this point, you might say that its not Islamic militancy, but a 'freedom struggle'. Hmm.. I say, go a little deeper- what is freedom -how was Kashmir different from Bihar (the poorest/ most lawless state in India at that time), Did we have different policies in these two regions - were the policies lopsided in any way towards Indians being different from Kashmiris, how were Kashmiris oppressed when they had their own govt, own constitution, How was it before 1989/90 - before the militancy and army took over?. Even when we do a quick comparison, Bihar had a much stronger case for freedom from India than Kashmir - which has always been affluent and thriving. The way my 10 year old mind understood the terror: jaloos outside my house, the sloganeering for nizam, Sharia, and ralev, chalev, ya milev (convert, run, or die), the talks of 'hit lists' every Friday- names of 'hindus' who were to be killed the following week, and more than anything the taunts in school, the distrust that crept between us and our neighbors of 3 generations - was a 'us' vs 'we' struggle. It was religious - the muslims vs the rest. What more proof than that Kashmiri muslims are ok to sing the national anthem of a failed muslim state and feel oppressed under a secular and liberal India. Your version of the exodus of Kashmiris hindus doesn't remotely concur with my experiences or that of any other Kashmiri hindus I know. Neither does your reasons for why Kashmiri hindus don't want to return resonate with me )In the first place, I do want to return - always have). The prolonged pain, desperation, and agony of the forced exodus which has impaled through three of my generations has altered my world view, my definition of security, and my ability to trust people. I do understand that the violence of last 25 years would not have had a positive effect on you either. It is my belief (as beautifully stated in the nasadiya suktam) that we have to keep questioning our beliefs and our truths. Its only by constant seeking of truth - more so when its not aligned to what we want to acknowledge - we gain truth and from that peace. Do please explore the alternate versions.. especially the ones from the other camp.

+bekal " when Islamic militancy took over" It was secular militancy of JKLF that assassinated people supporting the government irrespective of religion, islamists came into the picture after much after JKLF. "how was Kashmir different from Bihar (the poorest/ most lawless state in India at that time), Did we have different policies in these two regions" kashmir and bihar are in no way comparable, Kashmir did not belong to India. "were the policies lopsided in any way towards Indians being different from Kashmiris, how were Kashmiris oppressed when they had their own govt, own constitution, How was it before 1989/90 - before the militancy and army took over?" i can't believe you are asking this! Kashmiris had their own government only for 4 years till 1953 when Shiekh Abdullah was arrested for demanding from India to fulfill it's promise of plebiscite. Kashmir was annexed into india on the basis of 370 which was eroded by first arresting democratically elected prime minister of kashmir and forcing him to sign accords for his freedom, installing of puppet governments of Bakshi and NC thereafter, massive crackdown of freedom activists, ban on jamat e islami, ban on jamat e islami school run in srinagar, In 1985 five muslims killed over protesting for electricity, rigging of 89 elections, rampant corruption. A tiny minority of hindus ruled kashmir with barbarity for 150 years (Read about the torment muslims were subjected to under the dogras) Even Sir Walter Lawrence condemned the land grab of muslims by Chakdars. This state of affairs did not improve much except that the land forcefully taken from muslims was given back to them by Shiekh Abdullah. You have to understand that the conditions of muslims in kashmir had become very miserable and the hope of kashmiri muslims Shiekh Abdullah arrested and thrown into jail for 18 years alienated the muslims. Pandits were definitely not oppressed by India the muslims were, for the pandits it made no difference many among them were actively working with RSS and other organizations which were working against muslims in kashmir. Pandits represented the elite, and for the elite whatever the social economic conditions of the state may be, it makes no difference perhaps that is why you are claiming everything was fine before militancy Read about french revolution to the bolshevik revolution or even Indian independence struggle, the rich and the elite don't care about it as for them the system poses no hardships. There was 10% reservation for pandits in bureaucracy inspite of their population being only 5% of muslims. They were doing very well. It was the poor muslim that had to bear the brunt of state oppression and hence the rebellion looks to you an islamic rebellion. " Neither does your reasons for why Kashmiri hindus don't want to return resonate with me )In the first place, I do want to return - always have" I don't know what prevents you from coming back, there are already many hindus and sikhs living in kashmir and they are not being forced to leave. Yes the violence has had a deep effect on me too, my parents brought me up with strong belief in the idea of India with a hope that i would turn towards a normal life instead of one of pain and agony but all this was shattered when i firsthand witnessed the brutal oppression of the armed forces and shameless defence of it by the country of which i thought i was a part.

Bekal Ghaatul. The only one ignorant here of the facts and ground reality is you! (Bihar and kashmir comparison shows it well) Your arguments are way off the mark. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits have resettled. They are not being killed, neither are the Sikhs. So it's clear your motive of not re-settling is because of other reasons masquerading as fear of "TERRORISM". If the aim of JKLF was to "obliterate the pandits" why then so many among the 219 dead pandits were government officials and had political affiliations with bajrang dal RSS and other right wing/pro indian organizations? You are only repeating foul propaganda. During militancy there many hooligans and thugs with guns who killed many people including muslims and pandits, who does not speak against that? Even pro indian muslims were killed and thousands of muslims also left the valley. Show me one prominent kashmiri muslim who supports massacres of pandits? But what about the gawkadal massacre sopore massacre zakura tengpora massacre, handwara massacre, hawal massacre, bijbihera massacre, kupwara massacre and other disgusting violations like fake encounters, 7000 mass graves, 8000 disappearances carried out by the most disciplined army? Yes, the kashmir struggle is inherently connected to religion because Kashmir problem arose out of partition of india which was itself based on religion. I did not expect you to be ignorant of even such a simple concept! Its ironic you blame him for kashmir conflict without putting forth an argument against him. Your hatred of Shiekh Abdullah exists only because he took away from the pandits what they stole from the muslims under the sikhs and dogras while working as chakdars. Sir Walter Lawrence has written about the land grab of pandit chakdars. Again coming back to the past, what the muslims experienced under dogras and hindus never ever even under Sikander Butshikan did pandits face such atrocities.The majority of conversions were voluntary, and there is no evidence to the contrary. Muslims in hindu rule were treated worse than animals, even those educated with degrees were not given jobs, the bureaucracy was also sole subject of the pandits. Before taking pride in the fact that majority of pandits were educated and muslims were not, you should ask yourself what led to this disparity? Because of the 150 year long marginalization of muslims, including marginalization in jobs. 8 lakh muslims died in famine of 1876-1877 while not even 1 pandit died due to the famine, it will give you an idea of the discrimination. Your comments are so ignorant, "fight for pork freedom don't limit to kashmir". I don't think anyone in kashmir eats pork, if the hindus are fond of it we don't have a problem if they want it here.Asking us to not limit ourselves to kashmir is like asking indian citizens to worry about some random country like germany do not limit yourself to solving India's problems. I said before your emotional outcries have neither a logical basis nor any factual correctness. There are hindu practices going on throughout the year, even during the worst conflicts, at different sites like kheer Bhawani and amarnath and many temples also are active. Thousands of pandits have already resetlled. If your intention is not to leave your job and other things there then don't play the " i can't go back home card"
@bekalghaatul9217 жыл бұрын
Interesting... - That you quote the official government figures of killed Kashmiri Hindus and then proceed to talk about 7000 mass graves. o Where does this figure of 7000 come from -why not 7001, or 700, or 70, 7, or 0? o What are the official figures of Kashmiri muslims who have died in conflict? o And what are the ‘unofficial’ figures of Kashmiri Hindus who were massacred - certainly much higher than 218? Hindus have been obliterated from the valley, which is what the secularist (as per you) JKLF/ other militant groups wanted. - That you with the chakdhar argument seem to suggest that with the Kashmiri hindus were the zamindars - a far cry from truth. Hindus were by and large the middle of the pyramid, the richest and the poorest being the muslims. In addition, Land ceiling acts have been enacted and enforced many times across India against a feudal structure- not only specifically in Kashmir. Feudalism has always been wrong. Govt enacted laws to fix it. It’s fixed now ‘per law’. Stop harping on it. - That you refuse to acknowledge that you too hate Sheikh Abdullah and clan. For me, instead of patching the single canvas on which both Kashmir and rest of India exists, he and his progeny have stabbed it again and again to manipulate and serve them and their family alone. It’s surprising that you were looking for an argument here. You see it, yet you don’t. - That you choose to be selective about the words you pick from my previous response- pork and not beef. Muslims in Kashmir do eat beef if not pork (nothing against it btw). Have a large heart and fight for all worth fighting for - tolerance, harmony, justice, and equality are always higher than religion. - That you decided to somehow equate the barbarity of Sikander Butshikan with the Dogra rule. I am quite sure that monarchs no matter which religion they belong to will put their own interests first. But Sikander Butshikan was a murderer, pillager, and plunderer, who carried a vendetta against the Hindus (tones of literature to prove it). Look also the quantum of time - there is no comparison between 900 years of Islamic rule and 150 years of Dogra rule. - That you are already confident that Hindus choose to settle outside out of their own wish and now don’t want to come back. o How do you know? o Why do you feel? May be you should visit the single room shacks that the state government has provided the Hindus in middle of nowhere- the grand resettlement plan of the state government - which as per you, has very less representation of Muslims. Seriously!! or it vice versa- very less Hindus - majority of the funds being siphoned of to the Kashmir from Jammu. - That you have finally agreed and moved from ‘Kashmir being a political struggle’ to ‘Kashmir being a religious one’. By this argument, was the forced exodus of the Hindus was in line with the religious Islamic plan? Don’t respond to questions. Seek your answers this time.

Again no facts, foul propaganda. You are just giving your opinions which have no factual standing. Hindu's have been obliterated for the disgusting caste system and ill practices of it's followers not due to foreign persecution as rightwing mouthpieces like yourself put it. If 900 year long rule obliterated hindus from kashmir then why didn't 1000 year rule of muslims in india obliterate the hindus of india as well? Hindus like yourself who live in a self made cocoon don't want to come back because you people are becoming victims of your own propaganda, the fear that you talk about exists in your mind only, because the situation on ground is clearly opposite, many hindus and sikhs living peacefully with no attacks against minorities since more than a decade. Infact hindus and sikhs are safer than muslims in kashmir. And regarding the figure, the mass graves are 6700 exact found by human rights activists using scientific techniques which cannot be disputed against as graves are backed by evidence. I have not made up any numbers in deaths disappearances and mass graves of muslims, I have mentioned exactly what is acknowledged by state human rights commission. The fact that you allege that i am downplaying deaths of minorities while magnifying those of muslims shows your biased and corrupt mindset.
