I think instead of buffing it, they should push new players towards it and make it a F2P area with a lot of the features stripped for F2P. But it should be the low level players hub. Add a GE clerk down there along with low level training methods and stuff. Imagine if they had a level 1 agility course there that could be used in F2P with a level cap of like 10. Or hell, no level cap. If someone wants to get 99 agility from a level 1 course, let them. Throw in some ore up to coal somewhat near to a bank, a furnace and anvil (in different spots), and just more content to introduce new players to the wide array of skills in the game. It could also work great for a F2P diary.

I can explain exactly why. Back in 07 runescape used to be a fun game where players used to actually play the game and enjoy its various content. Now in 2020, it's all about efficiency, 3 tick skilling, and getting the best xp rates. It's just how the player base as evolved, most of us are adults now. I remember bank standing for hours chatting now, I'm grinding construction in a dungeon using hot keys, giving myself arthritis. Gaming!

I noticed that they had shot up to a traded price of 200m a piece on ge tracker, so i rushed to my poh and made a bunch. one sold for 10m, and then 31 more sold for 5m each. according to ge tracker, there was over two thousand of them sold that day. Not sure what the bulk amount was sold for, but it blew my mind that the displayed price was 200m a piece.... a certain amount of them were traded for that much, somebody probably sold of upwards of 100b gold.

I prefer the content where you have to actually do what the skill says. Like when you're "thieving" and you're just standing face to face with an NPC diddling his doinger repeatedly, that doesn't sound like thieving to me, but making your way though a garden dodging the npcs without getting caught, because if they see you they send you back to the start, (literally just like Monkey Madness 2, it's the same mechanic, or was it DS2? I think MM2, but anyway) that's way more in line with the spirit of the skill to me. Plus they clearly have given that idea some love semi-recently putting it in that newer quest, so why wouldn't they keep it up?

Not sure if anyone knew this, but if you find barrels with faucets on them (usually found in dungeons, barbarian village, Hobgoblins near the hill giants area under varrock) they always have beer in them if you examine them. You can fill your empty beer glasses with them for healing and strength bonus if youre at a nooby level.

Julian Dubeau Stealing Creations (last I remember...haven’t been on RS2/3 in a while) was in the underground games area near Fally (where clan portal, white FFA portal are) where you can create clay items in the minigame and use them to gather more clay and the team with the most by the end wins. A really cool bit of dead content everyone forgets is the "Prayer book" from The Great Brain Robbery. It's an item that lets you cure poison using prayer points. Another dead content item is "Holy water" which can be made after completing Legend's Quest. It's a ranged weapon to use against demons. There's also other dead minigames I'm sure you're aware of, such as the Ranging guild & Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup.

To be fair most shit on Mos is dead content. Even the trees are not worth the hasle, even for Iron Men. Mos is the Silithus of Runescape, you feels that the devs did not give a fuck when doing the area which is a shame. Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup isn't dead. On many worlds, you can find at least a few players doing it, and a bunch of broodoo victims standing around indicating that players have accidentally spawned them and left because they're too much trouble to fight. Making a bunch of relicym balms, collecting the 1-dose antipoison from the Observatory dungeon, then bringing them all in noted form to the village along with the best prayer gear you have after having done the Trio quest so you can use the altar, then using all those potions on the yellow and green broodoo victims by world-hopping is a pretty good (and quite fun) way for ironmen to get herblore xp in the low to mid levels.

i'm surprised no one's said Mage Training Arena. i'm in there every day (saving up for the whole set) and i can say with 100% certainty that i've never run into anyone who was there for something other than bones to peaches for the achievement diary & then gtfo asap. No one else i've talked to had any intention of getting the wand or the book or anything else. I can understand why, of course - collecting points for the minigames takes FOR EVER, some of them are really slow and painful (telekinesis room), it costs a fortune in runes, and then once you get the rewards, they're not as good as or barely better than items you can acquire for a fraction of the price and zero effort (the mystic set for instance, & tome of fire). the set itself is also treated as a normal tradeable item, so regardless of the fact that you spent 5mil in runes and weeks of your life in 4 different click-intensive minigames to get it, you can die somewhere and lose it and perdu won't even sell it back to you. if you're an ironman you'd literally have to do the whole thing all over again. the difficulty in getting it makes it too rare, and therefore valuable, to do anything except fashionscape with it, and in my opinion it's way too ugly for that. Even the recolors are ugly. I'll give MTA one thing though: you get 125 exp per high alch in the alchemy minigame. Yeah, 125. for every cast. more specifically, you get 60 bonus experience for every alch (low or high), rewarded as a lump sum when you turn in your coins, in addition to the normal exp drop you'd get for casting it anywhere. before ancient magics, i'm pretty sure that's one of the fastest ways to train magic if you just have "fuck you" money to throw at the runes for it. Creature Graveyard goes pretty fast, too, and tends to give a nice number of blood and death runes back to you while you're in there. At higher levels, of course, you'd be doing better literally anywhere else. But i guess they don't call it the training arena for nothing.

Rat Catchers is useful for two things. 1. To make your cat wily and increase its success rate for catching rats. This is useful for farming spices for making spicy stews, which are among the best skill boosts in the game. 2. With minigame teleports, you can teleport to rat-catcher locations, such as port Sarim, which otherwise doesn't have a lot of ways to get to quickly.

Back in 08-10 the Tzhaar Fight Pits would be used by the runescape forum warring community for mid to high level clans due to having as many people in the pits as you’d like. I remember there being a day with 4-5 clans of 30-60 people each all taking corners of the pits and fighting it out until the last person of a clan was left, and then declared victor. The 76 fishing for the raw shark to do fremmy trials was more or less the most painful aspect. . . 40 runecrafting was the only thing i had to do before i got there (for astral runes), everything else was provided. . . Altho admittedly i did have to cheat to get the quest point requirement for heroes quest (lunar dip requirement)

Over 10 years ago I used to participate in a "Gnomeball league". Teams of players would enter the gnomeball game and compete to see which team would score the most. Northern Destroyers was the dominant team. It was so fun back then.

The shrine is a large bird's nest located outside the entrance to the Ent dungeon. It is marked by the on the minimap. Players can offer bird eggs to this shrine to receive 100 Prayer experience and a bird nest containing tree or fruit tree seeds. There is also a 1/300 chance of receiving a piece of the evil chicken outfit for each egg offered. Does anyone do this? is it worth it?

I used Sorcereces Garden the other day to get a quick lvl 20 farming for quests. All the guides online said to do quests up to 20, but all the quests listed showed minimum 15 to start. So i did some research, finished Prince Ali Rescue, and got to lvl 20 farming in about an hour.

Flat packs is something I literally do to train construction. Helps recoup some of the cost. I actually asked Mod Ash to update the interface to do 'Make X' and be easier to use.

I think it would be really nice if the devs would start working on a system to bring back the value of these old minigames. Could even make the whole thing a minigame/event in and of itself, where you could for instance gain a new type of points that are shared between these different old minigames. I'm sure they could offer some really cool cosmetics for trading in the points. Would probably have to test and compare the difficulty of each included minigame and likely weigh the rewards at least somewhat differently, but I think it would be cool and also probably less work than figuring out a way to revamp each individual minigame.

Mysterious ruins are mostly dead. I know its nothing major, but i still remember the days were you had to sprint from the bank to the ruin with a talisman or tiara and all the way back with the only weight reducing gear being the boots of lightness.

Prayer mixes are great options for additional herb exp for ironmen btw. herblore is by far the most tedious skill for ironmen and this adds another very accessible way to get some exp

I used flat packs when I was lower construction and I wanted to decorate my house how I wanted. They may not sell on the GE, but they're still good I'd say. Aside from being only 2 doses, barbarian potions are also dead content because you can't tick drink them like regular potions.

I still use the garden. While not as efficient, it has a lot more downtime as you have 20+ seconds to chill while you're running if you set the course up right. I could never get the blackjacking thing down, and got bored easily with it. It's also fun as hell to see the absolutely massive xp drops when you turn in the juice.

sorceress garden is 2nd best theiving exp in the game outside of blackjacking from levels 45-55 and 65-75 (around 75 knights is faster again), and summer garden 1 clicking is 45 seconds of AFK between around 10 seconds of clicking. From 45-55 is great for ironmen who haven't trained farming, it'll get you to around 15 farming too

Not OSRS but RS2. I remember Fist of Guthix being super popular. Had the best F2P gear, including the Rune berserker shield , combat robes and a bunch of other stuff. It was also a free and safe way to train mage as they gave you a bunch of free omnielemental and omnicatalyst runes. Jagex in all their wisdom decided to put a stop to the mage xp from the minigame, so everybody quit. Even in RS3, nobody plays it anymore. I remember coming back to RS2 after they made that change and nobody, even on FoG worlds was playing it. I hope they bring it back to OSRS and leave the mage xp turned on, it was a fun minigame.

RS3 has become cluttered with throwaway content from various quests, D&Ds or Events. The world map looks like a clutter of islands and expansions the devs didn't know what to do with. What's worse is that a lot of this stuff has been overlooked in various graphical overhauls. Now, with ultra draw distances, you can see so much of this clutter all at once. It totally kills the immersion. It's no wonder people teleport everywhere. I would love to see a complete remake of the world map, to spread cities and points of interest further away from each other and let the wild parts of the map breath a little. I'm thinking scale the world up two to three times. They should also go ahead and remove dead minigames that take up a lot of space, too, and cut the amount of servers in half to consolidate the player base.

Fight pits used to be my shit. Same as the duel arena (funning) and castle wars. I enjoyed that stuff a lot when I was a dumb little kid and didn't care if what I was doing was productive. It's kinda too bad that we're all older and smarter now and we don't prioritize the same things in the game that we used to, therefore some content just dies, even if it is still fun. All they need to do is beef up the rewards to bring them in line with other content and it'd be revived. Look at Pest Control. I don't actually like the minigame that much but I've done it more than any other because the void gear you get is so good, but i digress.

I missed Stealing Creation mini game. When I was a noob and didnt have much gp for hours of PVPing with ancient spells, so I played Stealing Creation because you could buy sacred clay, which I used to get 99 fletching. I think the "volatile clay knife" was like a 1.3X the xp rate of a normal knife. I like things that make the grind a little less of a grind, while having fun in a PVP mini game to earn them. Priorities were right back then haha
