Reading these comments, I realised that people's mindset is so annoying and cheap. Yeh log jo baar baar bolte hai "girls always fall for red flags" or "Girls only like bad boys". Bhai pura start to end galat statement hai. Girls fall for guys who they like, abb unki galti nahi that the boy becomes bad or shows his real personality after she is too invested or fallen in love. Sometimes, girls are so blind in love that they don't realise negative traits, but mostly the guys start showing their real side AFTER they know that the girl is in love with them and emotionally invested. Glad that it did not take much time for girl to realise the toxicity. For some it takes half of their youth to realise the severity. It may not always be the physical abuse but the mental trauma you go through in such relationships haunts you forever. And when you realise it half of your life is already over. You lose your friends, good time of your youth, sometimes you compromise your career and what not. But then you realise something is even more worse and that is your mind which has been programmed and you feel guilty for choosing even the right path. And then when you almost lose everything you realise it was your mistake to anyone control you to this extent. It takes courage to come out of that trap and then you understand self love is not being selfish.

My story through and through. I was with a guy like this, he was possessive, controlling and weirdly obsessive. He used to fight with me on anything and everything, used to verbally abuse me and called me a "whore" just because I had male friends. I chose him over my friends, my family and even my best friend. He forbade me from talking to anyone else except from him. I used to feel so suffocated. I now wonder why did I ever gave him the liberty to do that to me? I felt pathetic for a very long time.
